I can say that if I was someone who was immunocompromised or elderly, I'd be avoiding this all I could, I've already avoided being around elderly family as much as I can, and us talking to them on the phone as much as possible instead for now. They seem apprehensive about Google Duo, or Skype, or any of that (in neo-luddite fashion), and I'd not recommend Zoom. Regardless, when you see that something is particularly dangerous against specific demographics, if I was in those demographics, I'd be researching, doing all I can to stay safe, and I don't care what anyone else thought, if I had to be out in public I'd have ten masks on my face if I thought I needed it. For the rest of us, and especially our young children, statistics, much better treatment, etc. tell us there's little justification to be paranoid. There's no prizes for elderly people acting like they're in WW2 storming the beaches of Normandy, the virus isn't scared off or intimidated by shows of bravery. Trump can signal his defiance to this compliance authoritarianism in other ways that don't put himself in danger and doesn't promote others like him to stupidly invoke that risk.

Trump died? Jesus I am behind in the news

Oh dear, I failed in the grammar stakes there. Let me rephrase:

When Herman Cain died, he was the same age (actually a few months younger than) as the very much alive Trump is now.

I find that other than wearing masks in stores (most local stores have a sign on the door requiring it), and not having to go to work much (three times in five months I think?), my life hasn't changed much at all.  I normally don't get that close to strangers.  And nowadays, when I visit my neighbors who are older and potentially higher-risk than I, I try to stand downwind of them while talking (none of us wear masks in our neighborhood, though the local constabulary would have us believe this is a new "law").  I still have the same bottle of hand sanitizer I had 9 months ago.  I have bought one pack of toilet paper in the last 8 months. So not much has really changed in MY life, because I was pretty much "social distancing" long before it was cool.

I didn't go to bars, clubs, or large public gatherings last year.  I ate out a few times a year.  Haven't been to a barber shop in 11 years.  Went to a movie theater once or twice a year.  I guess for some, these things are more common, so I am sure they have given up more than I have.  I practice safe sex, money saving, and social distancing as I have for years.
