I wasn't aware I was invading a safe space, apologies for that. A tweet isn't a hit piece though, it's literally two statements by two people. Perhaps if Trump would act like the president, preferably in a slightly competent way, then he wouldn't be so insecure about others stepping up to the plate and he might have chance not ending up in my grand children's history books as the worst president in the history of the United States.  

 

If I'd had to venture a guess, I'd say it because the administration's propaganda arm Fox "News" pivoted and is thus giving permission to take measures. It's not a hoax or scam anymore according to them, like they've claimed not a week ago. 

 

I can't argue with you, and Ms. Regan is about to be shown the door, but my broader concern is that the science has been clear for weeks on this topic, and still no one can agree on a path forward.

I just saw the shelter in place order -- I have SO many friends up there, including two of my very best friends. My old work closed up shop this morning at 10am after a staff meeting (only four people, so not a big gathering).  Really sad for all of them. I wonder if it's us next.

That is because the science collided with the politics of some (and interests). It seems to be a rather unique notion in the US, but in a lot of cases, like this, there is actually an objective 'best option'. The difficulty lies within doing the right thing for the greater good when it goes against your personal interests .

 

As I'm typing this up, Fauci is explaining on tv that we really ought to take this seriously and stop thinking that it's an overreaction, while the architect of that very mindset is standing behind him. Honestly it's rather surreal, an idiocracy.

*sigh* waiting for husband to get out of the meeting... with the administration narrowing guidelines even further to less than 10 people, I don't see how the college can continue to remain open, nor any... for the foreseeable future.

   The better we do with voluntarily isolation, the less chance they are forced to go to something mandatory. They still seem to be one step behind with everything though. Here they waited until a kid tested positive in school to close the schools. If they keep waiting until people have been exposed for 3-5 days before they start closing things down, it's just not going to work.
