All in a days work of projecting for the Federalist.

I'll give them a pass on this one, because they may not know how the data is used. Seeing the death rate increase past a certain threshold is one of the indicators that a disease is becoming more widespread or severe, and they may decide to declare an epidemic based on that. At one time there was not much beyond clinical data to go on. Nowadays there is usually a lot of other data, testing, and tracking to consider, both to declare an epidemic and to end it.

The main point is that while rising death rates may alert that a disease is epidemic, the reverse is not true. It is not automatically considered over just because the death rate falls below that number. There are still several other factors to consider such as how widespread it is, number of hospitalizations, level of population immunity, effectiveness of vaccination and so forth. When Covid-19 is no longer widespread or severe enough to be considered a major disease risk, is when they will declare the epidemic over.

i got a couple of coworkers that I have to tell at least 2x daily, to back the *%^^^ up. I never like people in my personal space anyway, now I really dont. I think its a micro aggression thing personally. One  that always does it told me he likes to slide shoulder to shoulder right next to customers to show them numbers. I told him that would make me so uncomfortable I would be concentrating on that, and getting out of there, not buying.

I told them to google up the Al Gore/GWB debate. Remember when Gore walked over while Bush was talking and got right in GWB's personal space. Bush jerked his head around and gave him a , look as if Gore had lost his marbles. That increased his poll numbers and may have well cost Gore the election.

I had to tell a young woman behind me in line when I was at the Grove last week to return some awful shampoo and conditioner to back off. I felt bad about it but she and her friend were too focused on taking selfies for Instagram (I saw what they were doing when I turned around) to notice that they were like 2 feet away from me. Everyone was wearing masks but there was no reason why she had to get so close. She apologized but I could see that she was thinking "shut up, Karen" (these were Gen Z kids).

With COVID cases surging in Georgia, Emory Dr. Carlos Del Rio is doing his best to fight the misinformation that's spreading just as fast as the pandemic.

https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10158692526241419&id=30845466418

Snip

One of the most harmful myths he thinks is contributing to the spread is that wearing masks is harmful. There's a graphic that's gone viral online that del Rio said is simply just not true.

It's not just like the flu

Del Rio said when people compare COVID-19 to the seasonal flu, they're just wrong.

Luckily where I work at if we go to another room or travel down the hall then we wear our masks. But when I am in my room with 3 other people we sure as heck aren't wearing masks all the time.

Petting them gently just prior to commencing the twisting off of the neck seems to help with the stress of eating them afterwards.  Or so I have been told...
