I use a Bandanna,  realised I did not have one with me but the Dog did so borrowed hers.

I recommend you listen to the question and answer portion of today's news conference. I just did. :)

News.  You mean the news that told us there were going to be more than 1.5-2.0 million covid deaths in the US?  Naw, you go ahead and watch what you will.  I'll stick with logic. ;)

No, I meant the news conference I linked to yesterday. We were talking about Garcetti, and I was pointing out what he actually said in the news conference. I think if a person is going to have an opinion about what was said by someone, it's important to actually go and read or listen to what was actually said. That's all.

I like the use of italics here by the way -- makes me feel like we are being let in on a secret.

Did it by mistake and could not be bothered to change it, not as if she had it around her muzzle.

I commend you for that.  Too often, we fail to do that and just believe the headline.

Using what for the material?

Several layers of high weave, high quality, quilting cotton such as Kona or Batiks. Could even use very high thread count sheets, strong cotton tshirts, or sack flour cotton tea towels. Add interfacing depending on the design, but the best material thus far is polypropylene or Oly Fun which can be used for filters or the mask can be made entirely out of that weave (fully disposable that way). They've run tests on that material and it had impressive results. The cloth material should be washed, boiled, or bleached and then ironed before construction. Oly Fun won't stand up to high heat for the long term so when used, it's best as a disposable layering for a mask that works fine. Do not use poor quality fabric with low weave and always make sure it fits properly.

Also Macne is a real thing. Don't use itchy sweat heavy fabrics. Cleanse and moisturize daily. :P

Hydroxychloroquine lowers COVID-19 death rate, Henry Ford Health study finds

A Henry Ford Health System study shows the controversial anti-malaria drug hydroxychloroquine helps lower the death rate of COVID-19 patients, the Detroit-based health system said Thursday.

Officials with the Michigan health system said the study found the drug “significantly” decreased the death rate of patients involved in the analysis.

The study analyzed 2,541 patients hospitalized among the system’s six hospitals between March 10 and May 2 and found 13% of those treated with hydroxychloroquine died while 26% of those who did not receive the drug died.

it's been a little difficult at times to find H2O2

I see it in almost every whole-house estate sale that I go to.  Just bought a bottle at one last week.

Of course, dental/medical offices probably can't or won't use "used" bottles of it.

Gotta be #fakenews.  We have been told right here on VJ that it isn't true.  And that we need to believe the news.  And "experts".

I agree, in the media it is very political, but I will let the Drs. and patients make their own decisions.

We already covered this yesterday? I mean, like literally on the previous page of the discussion. Garcetti announced in the news conference I linked to that yes, he now believed there was a link. What changed? Well, earlier in the week, he consulted with Dr. Ferrer who is our county health official, and she said she had a hypothesis there was a link but there wasn't conclusive evidence. He said -- and this is in the DM article linked to -- that he consulted with her again and she confirmed a link. Things change, information changes, and personally as someone who actually lives in the same county as Los Angeles and lives in a city surrounded by three sides by Los Angeles, I am glad that when he had more information, he communicated it. It's not "admitting" -- it's communicating that the information has been updated. I'd rather have government officials saying that they know more now, and here's what they know, than doubling down on what they said that is since proven to be wrong.

And also, since when is Garcetti an expert on anything except being a slightly-above-mediocre politician? I listen to Dr. Ferrer around here. Not listening to experts is why we, as a country, SUCK at getting this virus under control. Experts have told us to wear face coverings, clean our hands, practice social distancing, and enough of us do not because we believe in our gut that we know better, or we're done with all of this, and why aren't we better by now so clearly none of it worked so go out there and partay with your mask off because what do experts know anyway? 🤷‍♀️
