Wishing I bought more than a pound of back bacon last week, as we're now in self-isolation pending test results. :( No going out to the store until we get the all clear OR until quarantine is over, depending on what happens.

Testing complete! It was a very smooth process, in and out in about 5 minutes. The longest part was getting there and back. We went to Cedars-Sinai in West Hollywood; we had another option closer to home but I trust Cedars the most. Also the one close to home had a whole laundry list of questions that I thought were not relevant to getting tested (like Alex's employer, his job title, our insurance ID numbers, etc.) that the Cedars intake did not ask, and I prefer not to disclose that information if I do not have to for what is HELLO a free test! Cedars only wanted to know if we had symptoms, if we were in one of the priority categories of workers, when our symptoms started, and our contact details.

So as we pulled up, we saw big signs that said to put on our masks and get IDs ready. We had to show our IDs (both used drivers licences but passports and state IDs were acceptable) through the car windows, they checked our names on a big list and then they stuck our paperwork under a wiper. Our IDs got checked three or four times, and our names were confirmed orally twice. We followed the cars ahead of us, then when it was our turn, we were instructed to put the car in park, roll down the windows and pull our masks down to cover our mouths only. We were tested at the same time, one worker at each window. After advice that it would only take five seconds and it might be uncomfortable, the tester inserted the swab in my nostril and swirled it around as she counted down the five seconds.

That was it, we will have our results in three days or fewer, and we were told to continue self-isolating. That means no trips to Wendy's (which Alex did the other night when he thought I might like a Frosty, which I did), delivery outside the apartment door only if we want restaurant food. No trip to the grocery store this weekend if we don't get our results by then. It's usually our only outing during the week.

I have a confession... I kind of enjoyed how the swabbing felt. Alex said I was a pervert.

He mentioned something about my "hitherto unplumbed depths" being quite disturbing. All I could say was, "Who knew?" :D
