Haha, no, I don't think I scared him away. And no, Boris wasn't me. Last I heard of him he had had a skiing accident in Aspen I think and broke some ribs, which must have been back in December? January? I can't remember.

Everyone can come together. Let’s be content knowing both republicans and democrats over-reacted. All 24 hours news stations overplayed COVID like the Weather Station overplays an approaching CAT 1 hurricane. No one has been right but the vast majority has been wrong.

It’s okay. We can get up. It’s time to unwind from the fetal position and live again. Don’t be afraid of the light.

That's nice, but I'm going to continue to take advice from the CDC and my county health department over some rando on some other (unidentified) forum quoted here on this forum. :) That means social distancing, staying inside unless going to the grocery store or exercising, and staying sane. I did go to the post office today though, but I had to return something in the mail. Walked in, dropped it in the parcel chute and left immediately.

So you are violating the rules, and are ok with it, because it suits your lifestyle.  Thanks for the report.

I wondered about the Post Office as I need to go tomorrow.

Advice from the CDC? The organization that YOUR political party is saying has dropped the ball since all of this started?  Improper testing, not enough test kits, too slow to respond... that particular CDC?  Or are you referring to the other one.  So you are comfortable with this decision?  What does Alex say about this?

They are considered an essential service so they are open, much like the grocery stores. I used hand sanitizer before and after I entered the building and the door was open when I got there, so I literally walked in, dropped the package in the chute and walked out.

It's not violating the rules to go to the post office. Visits to essential service providers, including health professionals, are permitted. I saw my therapist yesterday in person because she is (and she told me this) considered an essential health professional. But instead of having a session indoors, we took her dog for a walk for the length of the session and walked 6 feet or more apart the entire time. It was great to be outdoors in the sun in a pretty much empty neighborhood, getting exercise and also healthcare at the same time. We're doing it again next week

Not really sure why you're getting so bent out of shape about this? I trust the CDC; my mom is a doctor and she says listen to the CDC. And I listen to my mom -- she knows more about this stuff than I do, and she's on the front line of the virus right now. Believe me, I'm scared about that.

Am I comfortable with what decision? Sorry, I haven't had enough alcohol yet. :P

LOL, you are fine.  I was just asking your chain because of the other folks on here who are afraid to step outside their doorsteps.

But... The USPS is NOT an essential service.  Other than mailing your taxes (which aren't due until July 15th), what is so imperative that you cannot accomplish it online, or in your personal mailbox?

You really need to stop wasting money on a therapist.  We here in CEHST can make you whole again, if only you will read and heed.

I stay more than 6 feet away, and yet that fruity person @Orangesapples says I am an abomination to our culture.  How is it that we do the same thing, yet get different ratings?

Well done, Daily Star.  I was trying to think about why people needed to keep their bits and bobs and boobies super clean to save the postal workers and then duh.

I can't drop a large package at my personal mailbox and wait for it to be picked up. I live in a secure building but you never know what will happen, someone lets someone inside to be nice and walks off with something. It is a very good idea otherwise, and the very few things I do need mail physically I have just been doing by dropping in the outgoing mail slot we have downstairs.

Post offices have been deemed an essential service, much like laundromats and dry cleaners. We have our own washer/dryer in the unit, but I needed to get some dry cleaning done. It has been chilly here and we needed some sweaters cleaned. So I actually had the cleaner come and collect from me. We did social distancing while he collected.

Thank you for the kind offer about the therapy but I am very happy with my therapist. I also highly doubt everyone wants to hear even more about my personal life in here. :D Do you want to hear about my rotten, abusive high school boyfriend and how he laid the tracks for every bad relationship I had after? No? Thought not -- and I have a LOT to unpick about THAT relationship. :P

I will let @Orangesapples speak for herself. :) Alex is fine with the going outside, he takes a walk at 3 usually to clear his head himself.

All delivery services are basically essential in a lockdown. USPS delivers not just mail but packages as well.
