Incorrect.  It has been postulated, yet not backed up via sources that I have seen.  There has been no indication that "WHO test kits" were ever made available to the US.  Had they been, and had they been taken by us, how many tests in other countries would have not been able to have been completed?

On 6 Feb, The Who shipped 250,000 test to 159 countries.  How much would WE have diluted such a shipment?  Or put another way... how few test kits would the US have had had they taken any?

"Dude, just quit"<your words

It is well established and agreed by the CDC that mistakes were made with the tests.

Besides, we keep hearing from you that this is not different than the normal flu cycle (obviously wrong with foresight), that the tests can't change anything and that this is a Chinese conspiracy. Why should we listen to anything you say on this topic?

So you keep saying this is worse than the flu.  How is that, exactly?  Other than the fact that we have no proven vaccine yet, HOW is it worse?

Mistakes were made, no one is disputing that.  Bad tests, false positives, etc.  But what else would YOU have done, had you been in charge of the CDC?

The transmission rates and fatality rates are vastly higher than the current flu.

I guess we will know in a few months which of us is right.  I know who MY money is on.

Between 40-55,000 dead from the flu this season (going back to October).  5,408 from CV19 since 31 Dec.  VASTLY higher, eh?

The rates are obviously higher. The absolute numbers are not. Well, not yet, to be more accurate.

Almost.  The rates cannot be known until the absolute numbers are (or nearly so).  One additional zero on the denominator can blow the rates out of the water.  We have YEARS of flu data off which to go, but even with that, many uncertainties exist each year with the flu.  The same uncertainties as with CV19.

Edit : third time I have posted this

So you are proud of posting a political link to an economic situation three times?  Your mom must be proud.

"Allowed the Coronavirus to sweep the US".  So you mean had the tests been more successful, they would have PREVENTED the CV-19 in the US?

Yes I am proud of the numbers I posted, they are accurate

You cannot let go of the fact that things did not go well on Trump's watch. If you go back an read my posts, I don't even lay the testing failure at the Presidents door.

Is testing capacity still restricted? Yes. Would having more testing capacity have slowed the movement of the virus? Yes. Would a slower movement of the virus save lives?  Definitely.

Time to quit the denial and embrace the science.

I agree, it's well within the realm of possibility that there are enough untested positive people with mild symptoms to bring the statistics more in line with flu. I wouldn't say we can do more than an educated guess either way at this time. I think it's best to acknowledge that the numbers look worse but are highly inaccurate right now.

Have a friend who was potentially exposed.  Has a dr's note to be tested. Has tried 3 different testing facilities on 2 different days in Denver.  They're out of tests. @Orangesapples is currently correct as testing will soon be non-existent.

Can the doctor submit the request for testing directly to a lab?

UW may be able to help they are able to process a test for you provided they have an order from a doctor. They have managed to do 1300 cases, typically from patients from other states who otherwise could not get the test. https://testguide.labmed.uw.edu/public/view/NCVQLT I pray this is of some help.

Well, yeah, that's what I mean, practically non existent. I just woke up with flu like symptoms and I don't even know if it's worth it trying to get tested 😕
