Hi y'all,

 

I'm from the Netherlands and heard about the upcoming 30 day travel ban to the US from Europe. I'm really sorry for those of you that were planning to travel but can't anymore..

 

I am not planning to travel to the US from Europe soon but I was wondering if there is any information on whether processing times for the K1 will be delayed, or the consulates close for a time or any of that type of thing.

 

(I am still waiting for the NOA2. The visajourney estimate is mid-April.)

Did they give any other information? My interview is on 4/15 and when I heard Trump's announcement yesterday I knew this would affect the interviews

The email only says to monitor the website for information on when we can reschedule.  With the 30 day travel ban I would assume it will be also postponed for 30 days.  I doubt that it will be only 30 day travel ban, I am afraid this may go for much longer.

I understand that this feels heartbreaking, I woke up to the news that there is a ban for EU countries and while Croatia is not on the list right now, my routes out of Europe go mostly through banned countries. We’ll soon be added to the list anyway, I don’t doubt that. But in the long run it’s probably better they did cancel his interview, because they can easily extend the validity of the petition for a whole year, while the visa itself is valid for half that. So in the event this last much longer then a month, you will have room to still go on with the process. 
But for people with visas already in hand, I sincerely hope they do something about extending those if needed.

Stay strong, stay healthy and know that this too will pass, we waited before, we can do it again.

I'm supposed to fly on the 8th May, my visa expires the 21st.. Not sure what I'm doing now. I'm sure there'll be some delays along the way for people in the process, but hang in there, mine took roughly 10 months
