Is this form addressed to the beneficiary?  It seems a bit weird because it's asking about federal income taxes and household income when obviously if the person is here on the k1 fiance they have not filed a US tax return before and are not legally allowed to work so they are not employed.  It's also asking for a US credit report or "provide a credit agency report that proves you do not have one".  This is all easy for me, the petitioner, to fill out, but is the beneficiary supposed to fill this stuff out?   So confused!

The alien completes the I-944, not the USC petitioner.

Some people doing AOS may have tax returns, credit histories, etc.

I’m also very confused by this form, I just arrived in USA, I do not have any credit score and I didn’t pay any tax as I don’t have a job yet.

I was reading that we can use the taxes from our home country to proof that we were paying the tax outside of USA, but I was working in a cruise ship in the last years, so I wasn’t paying taxes also in my country. I just don’t know how I’m going to fill that form and fill documents to proof that. Very confusing

Fill in what you can and provide the proof of it.

All wont apply to you and that's okay. Just explain.

**it's important that you read the instructions for both the new I485 and I864 and I944.

So do they mean US only tax returns, not the previous country's tax return?

If you are referring to where it is asking about household income and such, you have to remember that they are thinking broadly for:

1. The beneficiary household size ( if they have other children or dependents)

2. If they have anybody else within his house with an income that will suffice.

In a nutshell, look at the I-944 like a I-864 but for Non-US residents. That's how I look at it to understand it.

Yes, it is for beneficiary, the non-US citizen. In the instruction, it does say that if you don't have the required document, you just need to explain the reason with supporting documents. Read my post for a step-by-step guide for I-485 & I-944: https://diysimpleidea.blogspot.com/2019/02/diy-i-485-adjustment-of-status-2019.html

Under the i-944 instructions they did say you can provide your foreign tax returns if you don't have any US ones. This is under page 4 of the instructions:

For me under that question about filing taxes I had checked 'No", then I explained that I was a foreign resident until recently. I then supplemented with my 2017-2019 foreign tax returns.

Yes, I-944 needs to be filed by the alien, you will be a part of her household though,

For Tax Returns : for her, not required to file and explain that in the "reason for not filling" part, if she filed in a foreign country, it needs to be included (in English of course)

For the Credit Score : it is her credit score, I also do not have one at time of filling I-944, if your wife is in the US right now, she has to send by mail a request for credit score evaluation to transunion here https://www.transunion.com/article/3-free-credit-reports. It is free and you get results from Equifax, Experian TransUnion (3 agencies recognized by USCIS). Do not do it online as they will tell you "unable to process your information" but if you send it by mail you will receive 3 letters, within 1-2 weeks stating "unable to find credit score" or "no credit score", this is what you want for you wife to include in her I-944.

Hope this helps !

No, I quit my job before entering US on the k visa. If you are not continuing your job after your admission the foreign income does not count towards your assets/current income. Depends on your situation really.
