Hi all,

I recently got a request for new evidence because I submitted the Affidavit of support I-134 with the AOS documents instead of the I-864 form, whoops! With the I-864, I am using a joint sponsor. I am a bit confused what evidence is required, as I see some people mention bank statements/records (which I originally sent with the I-134 but now that's outdated) but others saying its not necessary. From what I gather, I have to or should send tax documents, pay stubs, employment letters as the proof thats required for income. Is there anything else? Are bank statements really necessary? I'm currently away from home with a hospitalized family member and going to the bank to gather the documents would be a huge hassle right now so I'd like to avoid it if it's truly not necessary. Thank you.

You provide only the documents to prove the amounts you fill in on YOUR i864 based on YOUR financial situation. There is no universal list as everyone's situation is different.

If you meet the poverty guidelines for your household size in Part 6 Qu 7 you dont need to fill out any assets questions nor provide those documents.

Where does your income come from in Part 6 Qu 7?

Provide the proof of it.

Then provide proof of taxes filed the most recent year to satisfy Part 6 Qu 24.
