They don’t have the physical green card yet. Can they come here?

Do they have the immigrant visa affixed in their passport? If no, they cannot.

More details on quarantining etc will be announced in the next 48 hours. They may be better off waiting out the next 30 days or so in Germany. Being quarantined forcefully is not fun.

Just another random guy from the internet with an opinion, although usually backed by data!

Do parents and siblings count as immediate family too?

Parents yes. Siblings no

That is if you go off of visa categories. They havent specified what they mean by "immediate" in the proclamation

do you think I can ask for the national visa center to make an expedite request with our case ? Or would they let me stay in the US in order to attend the birth of our baby and not risk the spread of this COVID-19 ?

Expedite requests are free, no harm in trying, so I would suggest that you contact NVC and ask.  Be prepared to submit documents justifying an expedite.  If approved, all they'll do is send your file to the embassy in Paris a little sooner, and schedule your interview there for a few weeks later.  Your interview will be in Paris so you'll have to go back for that, then if approved, re-enter the US with your spousal visa.  Good luck!

Hi guys

So just to be clear this is a ban on flights leaving from EU only right? Not those with EU passports

If that's the case people can still travel to the US via other continents if I am not mistaken

Yes that is correct but folks with EU passports can come under scrutiny. you should be fine as long as you can prove that you were not a schengen resident in the last 14 days.  it says if you have been to schengen in the last 14 days you will not be allowed to enter. it does not matter what passport you hold

This does not apply to legal permanent residents, (generally) immediate family members of U.S. citizens, and other individuals who are identified in the proclamation.

does that mean it does not affect our visas ?

It means K1 are also banned. No exceptions were made for fiancés.

The interesting thing is parents and minor (under 21) siblings of US citizens or residents can visit on even visitors visa.

Oh thanks and where do I find the instructions on how to file a request for expedite ?

You are already a spouse of a US citizen. Just the marriage certificate and the proof of your spouse's citizenship would be sufficient to get through the travel ban.

Great !

thanks

Lebanon is not part of the travel ban, is it? Go get her and bring her before it’s added. Anything can happen at this point. Things are changing rapidly. Better safe than sorry, even if it costs you a few extra dollars. Many airlines are allowing free changes.
