Hope she'll arrive home safe. Being together beats being stuck apart from each other imho.

No doubt, these last three weeks have been nerve wracking.  I was actually suppose to travel there myself last week as it was my MIL’s birthday, but those plans were scrapped.

Thanks

I can relate. Just you wait, a year from now you'll enjoy a drink with your spouse thinking back at these moments, laughing at weird people were acting in the panic, hoarding toilet paper 😊

Wow, it's hard to believe how fast things have escalated. It was only a few weeks ago that we were discussing how to best avoid travel to an endemic area. Tell her to be safe and vigilant.

I know!  When I was researching routes home, the Netherlands had zero cases now they are up over 1400.

A bit of good news -

https://www.cnn.com/world/live-news/coronavirus-outbreak-03-16-20-intl-hnk/h_6315382240d96163d4d4cbe0b9aafb25

First participant in coronavirus vaccine trial given dose

From CNN’s Michael Nedelman

A novel coronavirus vaccine trial in the US has now given a dose to its first participant, the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases announced Monday.

The study aims to enroll a total of 45 healthy adults over a six-week time frame. Each participant will receive two injections about a month apart in varying doses.

The study, which is a Phase I trial, is meant to establish that the vaccine is safe and induces a desired response from participants' immune systems. Proving that the vaccine is effective in preventing COVID-19 infection, however, will require follow-up studies involving many more participants, which will take many more months, experts say.

“Finding a safe and effective vaccine to prevent infection with [the novel coronavirus] is an urgent public health priority,” NIAID Director Dr. Anthony Fauci said in a statement Monday. “This Phase 1 study, launched in record speed, is an important first step toward achieving that goal.”

The trial is funded by NIAID and run out of the Kaiser Permanente Washington Health Research Institute in Seattle. The vaccine, which uses genetic material called messenger RNA, was developed by NIAID scientists in collaboration with the biotech company Moderna.

The agency credited the speed with which it stood up a Phase I trial to its prior studies on related coronaviruses SARS and MERS. Scientists had previously worked on an experimental MERS vaccine targeting a protein on the virus' surface, which gave them a "head start for developing a vaccine candidate to protect against COVID-19," the statement said.

Why this for the profile pic?  Often in movies and on TV when they show Hawaii they show this beach/view. So, instead of doing Kauai or some other locale, we decided to do here, so that whenever some show shows Hawaii and this view, we will see where we were married.

You need the package for CBP to process.

If you have the option to fly straight from Bali, why not opt for flying from Australia two weeks after arriving there?

I can fly to the US in two weeks after my quarantine. Im just concerned things will escalate and for whatever reason that won't be possible. For all I know, the US could impose travel bans on Australians. Anything is possible.

in my opinion: skip going home , get some one to fedex your package next day service to Bali. Catch the first flight out of Bali to anywhere in US. A complete lockdown is on deck in US. its just a matter of days before they roll it on.  Once you land in US, you can figure out the rest of the stuff.

The wife made it home safe and sound yesterday.  Not many questions by CBP in Dulles probably since the flight originated from Moscow.  They did ask her what countries she visited and when she told them she was in Russia for 23 days which was the case, there were no further questions.

That's great news! What document did your wife have to show? Does a marriage certificate suffice?

I am in the Adjustment of Status process. I’m flying back to US on Friday from UK (currently on advance parole). Does anyone know exactly what documents you need to show at the airport to be allowed to board a plane to the US? Does a marriage certificate suffice or do I also need to prove that my husband is a US citizen?

You should only need the AP card.  If the name on your AP card does not match your passport, then you should also have the marriage certificate.

Good Luck!
