That, I do not believe........Demand, among other things,  drives cancellations......they will certainly condense flights if they see fit, imo.

i think we are very close to a complete shut down. this is my opinion. if i was thinking of landing in the next 2-3 weeks i will be prepone.

Thanks for the link.

It seems, that once flying out from London, the check-in staff will discuss an alternative landing destination - is that your understanding, too?

I wonder if any additional costs are involved.

I think that will be decided well before check in.  Your current ticket will probably be changed. Many flights are being cancelled. A lot can change in the next week. Airlines are trying to figure it out just like you are. The whole of the UK could be on lockdown by then. I don’t think there is any way to know what is going to be happening eleven days from now.

Look at the sharp increase in UK cases in 96 hours.

Hi all.

Sending love to everyone going through a tough time during this. I too am stuck and cannot travel to be with my fiance also :(

I may be in a bit of a unique circumstance so not sure if anyone can help.

I am an Australian, but I am currently in Bali. Australia has now imposed a 14 day mandatory quarantine to all Australians returning from overseas. I am returning on Wednesday 18th and intended to fly to America on Sunday 22nd, but now I cannot due to mandatory quarantine. We are being threatened with heavy fines and prison time if we do not quarantine for 14 days.

I am thinking of not going home and flying straight to America from Bali, but my issue is that my K1 VISA package is at home in Australia. Will they allow me to enter without the package? I have my VISA in my passport already (my K1 was approved in January).

I am worried that if things continue to escalate and a global travel ban is imposed that my VISA will expire before I am allowed to travel to the US. I know many others have the same concern, and I feel for you too.

Good morning all,
Firstly I would like to thank all of you who contribute to this website, you made the application process for my visa a whole lot easier with the knowledge you all have on, practically every situation, and that was invaluable to me being granted my visa.
Has anyone got any information regarding the status of K-1 visa holders, I have read the proclamation regarding the travel ban and couldn't find anything specific to that visa. I spoke with the London Embassy and they were next to useless, the visa option is all automated, and having managed to speak to someone there, they just directed me to the website, which when I last checked hadn't been updated to included the ban on travel from the UK & Ireland
Many thanks

You need the package for CBP to process.

If you have the option to fly straight from Bali, why not opt for flying from Australia two weeks after arriving there?

The Dutch weren’t more competent either. Refused to do something (god forbid the stock market would panic) until the federation of physicians pushed them to it last weekend and Italian physicians warned them that Italy is just ahead of the curve and the same is to happen to The Netherlands. Now everything is closed there and banned. Travel outside is still allowed I think.

Yep. The idea is that we need to try to domestically before internationally.

Boris Johnson' cabinet has oversaw the collapse of two major UK travel brokers, Flybe and Thomas Cook. The travel industry in the UK is falling at a completely rapid rate and he's trying to be careful about it, but also on top of that, he thinks he can fix this coronavirus with telling old people to isolate and giving testing kits out for cheap, which is cool, but the NHS isn't prepared for this and he is too far in his castle to realize.

My wife is currently on a flight from Moscow to Washington DC.  At the time we were deciding on her alternate route home (she went to,Russia via South Korea three weeks ago and Russia ended air travel there shortly thereafter) we considered her flying through Amsterdam.  I am glad we decided on the direct flight from Moscow.  If the Russian government follows suit, I expect that route may shut down soon.

Hope she'll arrive home safe. Being together beats being stuck apart from each other imho.
