My wife is a Ukrainian. Not part of the ban. She Is planning on coming to visit as we already have tickets for March 19th and her going home the 28th.  Problem is she has a transfer in Poland which is banned. So her being my wife should get her through. Or do we not risk it? Cancel the flight and get a nonstop flight from Ukraine to NEWARK NJ? Please quote me so I can see your answer if anyone has one for mw. Thanks.

This ban does not apply to spouses of US citizens.

Right, I knew this. I should have said Adjust status

There is a whole forum called “Adjustment of Status from Work, Student, & Tourist Visas” that might be helpful to you.

She should be fine. Avoid Schengen if you can if changing flights

It is fraud to enter the US on an NIV (barring a very limited set of visas like certain work visas, or a K-1 visa) with intent to adjust status. See INA 212(a)(7)(A)(i)(I).

The K-1 wouldn't make much sense if you could just go to the US and AOS anyway.

I don't think she will be able to travel - Ukraine to suspend ALL  air travel March 17.

Even if Ukraine didn't do that there is a huge chance your wife's departure from Poland to the US would be canceled. My friend just got cancellation with Lufthansa, out of Atlanta to Germany, for April 10...

Really sorry, but it is what it is...

Stay safe.

So, unless I'm missing something, the actual proclamation doesn't actually include the 30 day limit.

It does say this, and as far as I can tell, section 5 doesn't actually describe the thing they say it does.

Quote

Sec. 4 Termination.  This proclamation shall remain in effect until terminated by the President.  The Secretary of Health and Human Services shall recommend that the President continue, modify, or terminate this proclamation as described in section 5 of Proclamation 9984, as amended.

I don't see any hard end date. It doesn't really matter.  It can be extended or terminated at the discretion of the POTUS.

We canceled her flight and booked a flight with Ukrainian airlines in Kiev “where she lives” today straight to JFK. I hope that this works.

My fiance is from Hamburg, Germany. We were at the last stage of our K1 visa process. He had his medical appointment booked and his visa interview scheduled for late March. In the past week due to the growing concern over Coronavirus and the Trump mandated travelban, I fear what will happen with our process. He was able to book another visa appointment for April 8th, but I fear that one might be cancelled again.

Our wedding is booked for May 30th, 2020, and we have many people planning to fly in from Europe for the wedding. I am wondering if anyone is going through the same thing or has any advice/guidance on how we can move forward.

Same here! I already have my visa but can’t travel right now. I am stuck in Germany, but was able to rebook my flight for May 12th. All we can do now is wait and pray to god that this blows over soon.

There is a German sub forum if you’re interested, with quite a few people in the same situation. It’s in German though:

Same with us... I was gonna fly on April 6th from Germany.

The last stages of our K1 visa process were very stressful, because some documents were lost and then found and the lost again and then found again so the last months was like a roller coaster of emotions for us. At some point it even said „refused“, but we found out it was just a glitch. And then on Wednesday I finally could hold my visa in my hands but just a few hours later I hear the news and realized that I won’t be able to fly soon. I won’t  have a job anymore in April and no apartment, so I really don’t know what to do right now😭

I‘m still hoping everyday to hear that K1 visa holders will be allowed to enter, although I know the chances are very low.
Wishing all people who are affected by this all the best and good luck 🍀 Be strong 💪🏼  Let’s all hope that those with expired visas can still enter after this
