I have my bank app and my credit card.

Much better than cash! I visited over 40 times before I emigrated. I was regularly asked how much money I had with me. My truthful answer was always in the region of “around $20 in cash and my debit and credit cards”. Having a large amount of cash suggests an account back home has been liquidated. Cards suggest that the accounts are still up and running.

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

I've done the same thing. Twice, just like you. All together 10 visits to see a girlfriend/wife. The last 8 visits took place during 2 years, with 4 visits per year. Never had any problems what so ever. Just answer truthfully, don't hide anything and expect a few questions about who this guy is, how you met and what you're planning to do. I only had to say anything about my girlfriend on one of these 10 entries, the rest of the times they only asked me how long I was staying (I usually stayed for about a week at a time), stamped my passport and waived me trough.

Don't overthink this. I noticed that you live in the UK and as of right now, even if the UK is not part of the entry ban for tourists to the US, the Corona virus is a much greater risk to your travel plans than being turned away by the CBP. Good luck and safe travels!

My now husband came and saw me for a month the first time. He had a friend that lived about 100 miles away that he could stay with if things had not worked out between us, so make sure you have a backup plan. Meeting some person from the internet in person for the first time is terrifying and exciting, but you should always make sure to protect yourself first.

Also, to reiterate a lot of other people, be honest! The second time my now husband came to see me he was staying just a few days shy of the 90 that his ESTA would allow. When the border officer asked him why he was staying so long he said something along the lines of us wanting a long term future together, but since we had previously only spent a month together in person we wanted to test out "living" together as best we could before we applied for any visas. I know he did get pulled into secondary after that, but repeated the same thing and that officer noted that it was actually pretty smart of us to do.

I met my now husband in an online game. On my first visit, I simply told the officer at POE that I was visiting my friend or boyfriend and that I wasn't sure what he was because this was the first time we were going to meet in person. He was not really concerned that I was not going to return home (I had a job to return to), but he wanted to know how we met, how well I knew him, and how I was going to make sure that I would be safe. He was satisfied when I listed all the people who knew exactly where I was going to be and who were waiting for a message from me telling them I was safe.

Just be honest. If you feel he's your boyfriend, tell them you're visiting your boyfriend. Or tell them you're visiting a friend who might become a boyfriend. Whatever is your truth at the moment you enter the country. And make sure you can show that you are planning to leave again after your visit.

And I'm glad to hear that you're making sure you are safe!

Now unsure whether to change my flight. Airline is offering a voucher for the price of the flight and I've heard that the UK may be added to the European ban list.

It is a valid option.  What region of the US are you visiting?  I live in Seattle/ground zero and there are reports of some type of National Guard lockdown coming our way, like has happened for the New Rochelle, NY outbreak.  It would be awful to get "stuck" someplace inadvertently when traveling.

I'm heading to New York.

Sorry hon. I'm not going to see my boyfriend now. But it'll happen later. It's difficult.

Sorry for you, too! She was bringing her daughter over for the first time. (We're playing it safe with me not going there whilst the K-1 is pending, as I have no real proof that I wouldn't stay)

I'm remaining hopeful that they'll re-open flights in 14 or so days!
