Me and my fiance has plans on getting married. My petition got approved and he had a date set up. I'm trying to figure out why they waited for a day to decide to cancel his interview due to unforeseen circumstances. Like how am I supposed to know what went wrong? Why wait all this time, I can't even get in contact with anybody? How do I find out what went wrong, has this happened to anybody? What did you do to solve the issue. Please and thanks in advance.

Are you sure they aren't trying to re-schedule? People with the same embassy might have better insight, you can fill in your timeline with your visa type, country ect.. that information will help others trying to answer!

Usually that means that someone is sick and they don't have enough people to do all the interviews scheduled.   They will get back when they have full staff or squeeze you in as best they can.  Don't panic

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

Yes the interview had to be rescheduled, but why does it have to take another three months. We already had to wait 2 months, now he has to wait another three months. It's ridiculous, just saying

My fiance is coming on a k-1 Visa from Nigeria, they didn't say why they are rescheduling

Thanks for the information about your visa type and your country. We ask that you update your profile so that all your information is readily available for others to help you. Yes, you gave it here but what happens when you start another thread or you are in another thread and want to ask a question and the answer depends on the same information. That's why when you look to the left column of your last post you will see your profile. Now look at others and you an see the difference. So...;

We need a little housekeeping on your end. Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine their Embassy. The country that should be used is the country where the interview will take place.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right-hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

Once you finish that then return and you will see a flag in your profile. Select it and see what wonderful information will open up for you.

Thanks

We have been waiting, then they turn around and reschedule for the next 3 months. They never said what the issue was, I'm just tired of hearing bad news, this have been going on for 2 years now.

With him being from Nigeria, especially now with the ban you shouldn't make wedding plans at all. Even after the interview you're probably up for a long AP. Stay strong and hopefully it won't take too long for you.

Yes, we was just looking forward to him getting pass his visa interview process. I know things happen for a reason, just didn't expect this big outbreak either.

A bunch of people from Nigeria had their interviews rescheduled, most to May I think? Anyway, it's not a sign of anything wrong with your case...just wait for more information from the consulate.

If you have been following the news, the World Health Organization (WHO) has declared the Coronavirus a pandemic. Here's an article published 18 hours ago about the African nations and the confirmed cases of the virus:

Unforeseen circumstances may not mean that the issue is with your fiancé. Think positive and stay strong.

This is standard when dealing with government bureaucracies. Yes it is frustrating however trying to make sense of the madness will just drive you crazy. Nobody here will be able to give you any clarification.

Unforeseen circumstances is exactly what it means, unforeseen circumstances. It’s standard language meaning we’re not going to give out any other details/information. Right now things around the world are in flux, particularly everything related to travel and by extension immigration.

Take a deep breath, practice some deep breathing and take heart in that ultimately this journey will end.

I would bet this has everything to do with the pandemic, and nothing with your case. Resources are probably getting stretched with people staying home/working from home, which might reduce the number of people available to conduct interviews. I know it's so hard after waiting so long, but try to be patient, and try to stay healthy. These are difficult times for a whole lot of people.

Let me tell you!!... We turned all documents in on 05/10/19, our NOA2 expired 06/03/19, Which they assured us that they will validate it at his interview if it expired. The embassy didn't contact us until 07/16/19 to schedule our interview out all the way until 09/11/19. One week before that interview they sent an email of "due to unforeseen circumstance" and rescheduled it to 10/02/19. The morning of his interview while he was on his way they called him and canceled again "due to unforeseen circumstances". He didn't get his interview until 11/06/19. So we waited 6 months for an interview unfortunately. He's was approved and we are now married. I know it's not what you want to see/hear, especially in the wake of what's going on. Stay encouraged!

I'm so sorry to hear that. Congrats to you and your marriage. I pray all this madness dies down soon.
