My fiance just got his passport renewed and his interview is monday. So the forms he filled out for packet 3 and sent to Montreal have a different passport number and expiration date on them since he now has a new one. Is this going to be a problem or will we just be able to change the number on the forms??

I would bring in new forms with the new passport number and expiry date. Also tell your fiance to bring in BOTH passports to the interview (proof that the old number he put in was his). Good luck to him at the interview. :)

If he kept the old passport that is.

I had done that as well, filled out all my forms with my old passport number, then got a new one. I told the passport office I needed to keep the old one, so they just cut the corner off and stamped cancelled on the inside bio page.

divorced - April 2010 moved back to Ontario May 2010 and surrendered green card

PLEASE DO NOT PRIVATE MESSAGE ME OR EMAIL ME. I HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT CURRENT US IMMIGRATION PROCEDURES!!!!!

Same here. My interview is June 28 and I will be picking up my new passport at the PP office on June 27 - the same day I will be flying out. I won't be able to do up any new forms so I am just taking my old PP with me for cross reference. It's the best I can do under the circumstances.

I would asume there will be no problem - consular officers are familiar (one would think) with passport change of expiration dates and changes to numbers, specially since now most come as machine readable passports. So don't panic - I'm sure it will be fine.- just like neiks said, bring both!!!
