Hi all,

my husband is a US citizen and I’m his spouse we are currently stationed in Germany. He works as a contractor for the US Military in Aviation. I work for the same company but I’m on the German system at the moment, I’m from England.

So the company has offered me a promotion in America in their Corporate office which will be a pay rise but they can only hold the job for so long so if my visa takes longer than about four months the position won’t be there.

also, my husbands  contract ends in August and his job will be moved to the states. This will mean he will be separated from me and his son as he is not able to stay in Germany without a SOFA agreement. So we would have to pay for two homes another car etc.

so you think this would qualify our visa to be expedited?

thank you in advance!

I would try for DCF.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Would the company assist with getting you a work visa?

Nope :( They will put themselves at any risk whatsoever! My director has tried to get HR to help but they won’t, they won’t even write a letter to confirm they will picking me up once I have my green card.

very frustrating when I have worked very hard for them for ten years. But they must have been burnt by this before.

Then the  DCF for the IR/CR-1 would be the quickest, if it is available in Germany.      When it was available in the Philippines the complete process (USCIS petition process at the embassy & visa interview )  took about 60-90 days.

It's not anymore. Only for active duty military and exceptional circumstances.

Exceptional circumstances such as in this case apply at all Consulates.
