Just wanted to have an update post stating that my wife and I had the green card interview this morning for her and she got approved for her Green Card!

The interview went amazing, super smooth, we are both over the moon, excitement and joy! 🎆

She should have her GC in the mail in just a couple of weeks.

Can't say thank you enough for every single person here on VJ that has helped us to this point, this community is amazing, heres to the close of one chapter (AOS), and onto the next (ROC).

Would you mind sharing the questions?  As to what they asked for, etc.  What documents did you take?

I will do my best to recall the whole interview.

We walked into the interview place, lady called and asked if we are here for an interview, which as we were walking up to her we said yes, the lady asked to see my wife's passport and also mine, as she was looking at the passports she asked my wife how we got into a relationship.  My wife answered, and then had some nice light hearted chit chat, the lady at the window was absolutely amazing, so nice.  She marked on our appointment interview sheet, and she told us to put the interview sheet in a little drop down thing that was for applications on the wall.  We went and did that and waited by the seats next to where we dropped off the interview notice and waited for about 30 minutes for my wife's and I name to be called for the interview.

The IO came out and called my wife's name, and we proceeded to get up and go in for the interview, greeted the IO we went into the area for the interview, he showed us to his office after telling us he was going to be the one conducting the interview.  The IO had us put our stuff down on his desk, and then had us say an oath that we promise to tell the truth 100% during the interview, and that all information we state is correct.  After we said the oath, he had us sit down and he took out our case paperwork.  He was so nice, he was making light hearted talk, as he was going through the documents he required.  He was looking for the required documents in our case as he needed them, and going along the way he was making check marks to state he had the forms.

He asked for our passports, as he was going through them and the forms he needed from our case, he asked my wife the question of how we met, which my wife proceeded to answer.  My wife first came to USA spent time with my family, then I went back with her to the UK and spent a couple months with her, the IO really liked that we spent a good amount of time with each other.  He then asked the question of what my wife does/is going to do for work, which she answered appropriately.  He then asked what my wife has for education, answered easily and the IO was very happy.  He then asked me what I do for work, I answered.  The IO also asked to confirm the address he gave us as he was checking information.

Now here is where I was really, and I mean really shocked.  As the interview was going on the IO was going through our case paperwork and finding all the required documents, he did not once ask us for a form, not a single one.  He didn't ask us for any joint-evidence.  He didn't ask us to give him any paperwork.

He then stated that he is going to approve the GC and should have it mailed in about 2-3 weeks, and proceeded to tell us about ROC and when we need to apply for it, and told us how long we need the GC to be able to apply for naturalization.  He also told my wife what she can't do because she isn't a USC and can't claim to be one, told her that she can't register to vote, and no signing petitions.  The was some more good light hearted talk, he said he wants and wishes for us to have an amazing life, and asked us if we have any questions about anything.  I asked him some final questions about exactly when we can expect the GC.

We all got up and we both said we really appreciate the IO's time, and thank you again, and he showed us the way out, amazing experience.

 What documents did you take?

As for the documents we took:

We took our whole I-129F packet

The whole I-485 packet

The whole I-1765 packet

The whole I-131 packet

The RFE we submitted for our I-485

We also took with us every piece of mail my wife has received along the immigration journey, for us that was I-765 approval notice, I-131 approval notice, I-485 interview notice, Biometrics appointment letter, I-485 noa1, I-765 noa1, I-131 noa1, I-129F Noa2, I-129F Noa1.

I'll break down the above whole packets into what documents comprised of them to give a better picture:

Whole I-129F packet is straight forward - just the I-129F we recreated from the K-1 process.

I-485 packet:

I-485 application for my wife, signed-dated, G-1145, wifes long form birth cert, internationally verified birth cert, copy of wife's passport

I-765 packet:

     I-765 application, signed-dated

I-131 packet:

     I-131 application, signed-dated

RFE packet for I-485:

RFE notice, My I-864, letter explaining tax documents for me the petitioner, tax documents last 3 years, along with publication 501's, my USC birth cert, letter of description for the change I made to my I-864 for the RFE, my Employment Verification Letter, my Pay Stubs, our joint sponsors I-864, joint sponsors USC birth cert, joint sponsors tax information last 3 tax years, joint sponsors Employment Verification Letter, Pay Stubs for Joint Sponsor, W-2's for last 3 years for joint sponsor.  Household members I-864a, household members USC birth cert,  tax forms for last 3 years for household member, household members Pay Stubs.

My wife also then had a binder with all brand new documents that we had and the originals of all the above documents.  We had a lot of joint evidence, if you would like for me to list out all of our joint evidence we were able to accumulate and take I would be more than happy enough to help!  With stated above all forms we had originals and photocopies where able to.
