Hello,

USACIS and NVC took more time than we expected and the delay is still going. And it seems like my wife's passport might be expired by the time she gets her interview.

And even if the interview miraculously happens before the passport gets expired; for sure it will be valid for less than 6 month.

What is the right thing to do?

all the best,

H

Renew the passport/get a new passport,  of course.

Of course 🙂 ... but whats next;

shall we upload the new passport to CEAC to replace the old passport and restart the clock on another 10 weeks wait until NVC review it?

or shall we simply take both, the old and the new passports to the interview at the embassy?

thanx for your reply 🙂

Bring the new one with you to the embassy and explain to them that the old one expired you have no control over the the ceac website the old one is already accepted the immigration officer will tell u what to do just make sure u bring the new one with u to the interview

This sounds very logical actually  🙂

What is the worst thing that could happen if the counselor didn't like our explanation? 🤨

Thanx for your reply 🙂
