That’s crazy. When do you think they’ll schedule fingerprints/bio appointment? One year? 😝

Have they applied previous fingerprints to your case yet? If they applied old ones, would we still have to go for the biometrics?? I wonder...

No they haven’t. Case status is still Case Received. Assume they still require bio appointments.

April 22, 2020 - I-751 sent

April 23, 2020 - I-751 received at Lockbox

April 29, 2020 - Check cashed
??? - didn’t receive text or email confirmation. Ugh!

Hopefully that will change soon. I’ve had previous fingerprints applied. Not sure what this means going forward to be honest.

That’s great news. I take that you don’t need bio appointment then.

I’m not surprised by the USCIS inconsistencies anymore. It’s like a lottery. You may win on some parts but other parts you lose.

How do you work out when you become eligible for applying for citizenship? We married 10/27/2017. Just

Married to a US Citizen : 3 years of residency

Married to GC holder : 5 years

I was wondering if our I-751 is still being processed while we complete our 3 years of residency can we apply for citizenship? Or have to wait till I-751 is completely processed.

For some reason I always thought 3 years of marriage. When I went in for interview for AOS, the officer mentioned 3 years of marriage. So basically, I am married to a citizen and my GC expires 7/10/2020 therefore I can apply for citizenship 7/10/2021? As that would be 3 years of my conditional residency. Thanks for the link!

Actually we can early file for citizenship 90 days before 3ed anniversary of being permanent resident, so you will be eligible for early filing on 04/11/2021

what is your service center? Mine is Potomac and currently is between 13-19 months... that could change of course!

My code is MSC, which comes up as National Benefits Center and isn't an option in the list so I just clicked all centers and it said 23-53months

Yikes! Potomac is currently at 13-19 months. I would probably just apply for citizenship 😂

Yup thats the plan, I can send in paperwork on April 18, 2021. The earliest he can become a citizen is the 3yr residency which is July 17,2021. However, according to an article that someone posted, you can't become a citizen until the I-751 is processed, but the N-400 naturalization processes faster and once you have an interview the department that processes the I-751 apparently has to complete it within 120 days. Just crazy all of this.... I really wish we had known about this 2yr thing before we entered (we entered 4mths before our 2nd wedding anniversary, because the medical which was only valid for 6mths was going to expire).....

Hi everyone! I checked the online status for my case, and it was just updated today! It went from "Case received" to "Case Was Updated To Show Fingerprints Were Taken".

Did anyone else get this message too? Obviously, I did not have another biometrics appt since I filed during the pandemic (so this means they're reusing the biometrics from the AOS). I'm hoping this means that they're trying to speed up the process a bit to deal with the crazy backlogs they must be facing! :o 🙏
