No I didn’t receive any notifications.

If that's the case i'm not sure what you could besides wait. If you don't have a case number yet then you wont be able to track online and i'm not sure calling USCIS would help. Others may have better advice.

I'm also not sure how much of a difference sending your packet to the Fedex location makes. I have only ever sent via USPS to their lockbox. This could be an error on Fedex's part - they didn't actually deliver the packet - or it could just be that USCIS process slower from that Fedex location. Don't panic, it hasn't even been two weeks yet.

Hi everyone!

I am currently working on our package to send this month and am a bit worried that we might not have enough evidence.

My list is:

Our son's birth certificate

joint health and dental insurances

utility bill with both of our names on it

Our son's immunization record with both our names and address

letter from the hospital addressing both of us

IRS tax form for the last 2 years

pictures with together and with friends/family

2 mail envelopes from friends on both of our names

We don't have a joint bank account or any other joint documents. Do you think that would be enough and shall I write an explanation of why we don't have other joint docs?

Thank you!

We used to have a joint bank account and used it very little. But along they way realized it did not work for us. So we ended up getting a credit card and pay everything with it: Groceries, bills, airline tickets, etc. and at the end of the month we just split the bill. Easier. We sent the statements of this credit card for the past 15 months. Having or not having a joint bank account is not a deal breaker. Debit cards, credit cards that you use and pay together should be work. Every family has its own way to handle money. We have different incomes and we spend money in different things as well. We have common goals, and I think at the end of the day that is what matter the most.

You have a son together, I think that is a pretty important proof of the marriage. I sent our package yesterday, included bunch of photos, airlines tickets, car ownership, and shared insurance, besides taxes, affidavits, leases.

We received my extension letter a few days ago. So glad! Given everything that's going on, I'm guessing we're going to be in for a long, long wait.

We received our i797 yesterday in mail. have couple questions regarding it:

  1. For the visa journey timeline "Lifting of Conditions NOA Date" is that the Received date from the letter or the Notice Date?
  2. we filed i751 for my wife, in the i797 letter the petitioner and the beneficiary fields both have her name in it. is that correct?

The priority date should be blank. We are very lucky that it is blank because what it signifies is there is basically an unlimited number of green cards for spouses of U.S. Citizens.

Brothers/Sisters of U.S. Citizens or spouses of Permanent Residents get a priority date when they apply for their green cards through this process -- similar to the ticket you get in the DMV indicating your place in the queue. Then you wait. And wait. And wait till your number  (i.e priority date) becomes "current". When it becomes current, you can then put in your actual green card application. If you were in the employment based green card queue, your priority date would be related to when your forms were filed. After that you could be looking at a 10-20 year wait for your priority date to become current.

We should count ourselves lucky!
