Hey guys! So we got our NOA1 on November 29th, so we should be getting our NOA2 at any point now. Unfortunately, we moved from where I was staying before, and I already applied for my address change. My fiance (hes English) made my old address his mailing address (living address was the same as his parent’s place in England), but that’s still the mailing address for his stuff to be mailed to. I’ve heard that some Embassies only contact some people by email, and some people only by their DS-160 address, so do I need to pursue sending a letter to the Service Centre (California) or should I just leave as is? Has anyone had this experience with the London Embassy?

London sends a “letter of instruction” by postal mail once they receive the petition file from NVC. It is mailed to the address you put on the petition Part 2, 11a-i.  That is the only letter they send.

There is a UK FORUM on Visa Journey where you can ask London specific questions.

That answers a lot thank you. I'll try to ask in there as well, but you wouldn't happen to know how to change that address right? Again, the address where lives is fine, I just need to change the mailing address for him somehow.

I posted this earlier on the k1 visa forums, but I got referred to here. It would be lovely if anyone had any insight into this!

I wouldn’t worry about it. He doesn’t need the letter. It just says he can apply for the visa and to use the instructions on their website.

I've seen this for this site, and I believe one other place that he needs to take that instruction letter with him? I might be wrong though.

Read this post. It has all he needs to know once the case is sent from NVC. The letter isn’t needed for the interview. The medical clinic says in their info to bring the letter, but they just want to verify that his new  case number assigned by NVC is accurate. You the petitioner will get notification from NVC with the case number. Email that to him to show the clinic.

That's actually amazing, thank you so much! You've really put me at ease, I'm so happy I don't actually have to worry about any of that. Would you say doing the gathering of the documents and the DS-160 before the NOA2 is the best course of action to speed things along?

I promise he does not need the letter.

I really wish this was much more easily conveyed through the official sites so none of this is so difficult. But your confidence gives me confidence also! Thanks so much!

He can get his documents now. And go get his shot record.and any shots he needs...most adults need a new Tetanus/diphtheria because it has to be within the last 10 years. In the U.K., they give a shot called Revaxis to cover the Td. By the time he attends his medical, it will no longer be flu season so the flu shot is waived. Ends March 31.  Varicella is waived if he tells them he had chickenpox. That just leaves the MMR shots he probably got as a baby and is on his record.

Wait until the NVC has sent the case to London before applying for the visa (DS-160).  There is a bit of a delay between NOA2 and the case getting to NVC then on to London. Nobody is going to look at the DS-160 until interview day.

You can finalize your I-134 and proof of income to send him around the time you get NOA2. That’s all you need to send him. Nothing else. No proof of relationship, photos, chat logs, etc for London.  None. Believe it.

I've actually seen that you don't even need to send the I-134 anymore, that its just scannable then printable so he can take it to the interview. Is that correct?

Correct.

London is quite easy on the I-134. You don’t have to prove your income 4-5 different ways like the K1 forums tell you. An employer letter or one tax return/W2 are the best choice. Both if you’re nervous about it.

That's actually so lovely to hear. Thank you so so much!
