Update: the embassies in italy have confirmed visa interviews are cancelled unless deemed emergency. 😭😭

I'm so sorry. But just know it's not forever. I'm sure it will be rescheduled after all this mess ❤

My Husband is Canadaian and he will be flying to US next friday for 2 days

I didnt heard anything about ban from Canada and US or vise versa?

Anyone?

I haven't yet. I am sure there would be no problem entering the US as Canada has way less cases than the US. I heard they are reviewing boarders for Canada soon so I'm not sure if there will be issues for him coming back into Canada if Canada makes changes.

it says now to avoid all non-essential travel everywhere:

https://travel.gc.ca/travelling/advisories

If you guys still have to travel, make sure to look up the airlines and your insurance policies and all that to avoid potential travel costs that wouldn't be refundable due to advisories being considered "known causes", especially in terms of cancellation and travel medical insurance. I bought my plane tickets to my embassy interview just a few days before some travel insurances announced they wouldn't cover covid-related trip cancellation expenses anymore for that reason. I hope it doesn't get cancelled. (April 22 🥺) Good luck and do your best to stay safe and healthy everyone. ♥

Positive thoughts we both get to our interviews and no other issues or delays. I just can't believe we waited 13yrs to get this far and we are so ckose and there is a pandemic of all things!

Same. 14 years, a month away and now who knows what will happen. 😔😔 I'm sure the worst case scenarios will be some delays and since we've come this far, we can only looking ahead. But still, this timing really sucks for us who are so close. I hope you guys get to have your interviews just fine and cases processed asap.

Does anyone know if they will be closing the U.S consulate Montreal because of the Coronavirus ? We have our interview on Monday !

I was there this past Monday, everything is status quo. I do feel your anxiety though.

By the way, do not arrive with a backpack or large bag, they will deny you at the door and have you discard it

When we submitted all our documents and the 2 passport pics to the NVC it was back in November 2018. We just got our interview date for this month. Are we still able to use those 2 passport pics as the ones we bring to our interview or are they too old now (over a year old).  Wondering if we need to get new ones taken?

I know criminal checks expire but I haven't read anything about the photos expiring so I wasn't sure.

Thanks!

I remember reading on the government website that your passport pics shouldn't be more than 6 months old, and need to reflect your current appearance. See requirements here. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/photos.html

It’s still open! The interview went well. It’s a very quick process just more sitting and waiting for your number to be called.
