My foreign fiancé lives in Colombia and the mail service is terrible. I have sent multiple letters to him, researched how to address properly, paid appropriate postage. None the less, mail never arrives to his house. I can send something by UPS/FedEx/DHL, etc and they call him and he can redirect to his office where he receives it.

For the purpose of the K-1 Visa process, is it ok to use my U.S. address as his mailing address and then scan/email him whatever comes, even though he continues to live abroad? Will this have any unforeseen implications, like making it difficult to visit using his current valid B visa?

I am a little confused, for the K1, what do you have to mail to your fiancé?  I would think any documents they will need at the time of the interview can be scanned and emailed.

We haven’t applied yet, so I don’t know.

I suppose I didn’t mean documents between us, but rather notices and information from USCIS/STATE to him since he can’t get regular post. I don’t want to miss anything.

That makes sense.  I would have a moderator move this to the Colombia regional forum to ask this question of those from that country.  Just hit the report button on your OP, and ask them to move it.

Good Luck!

You need to use the petitioner's address for the petitioner's address and the beneficiary's address for the beneficiary on the I-129f application. They must know so they can send the case file to the correct embassy based on where the beneficiary lives. Most if not all mail is sent via e-mail and or you can find instructions on the embassy website. Documents needed for the interview can be scanned from the petitioner and e-mailed to the beneficiary to print locally.

We need a little housekeeping on your end. Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine their Embassy. The country that should be used is the country where the interview will take place.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right-hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

Once you finish that then return and you will see a flag in your profile. Select it and see what wonderful information will open up for you.

Thanks

everything is done electronically. i dont see a reason for you to send over documents to her? you will not miss any important  document colombia embassy use Email and DHL to reach out to the applicants usually takes a day or two depends the city where she lives, she would the have to pick up any documents from a DHL office of her choice so you shouldn't worry about losing any mail at all.

As others said, embassy just send things via email, in my case, they put my fiancé email address there too.

if he has a tourist visa, the embassy is gonna send it to the email he used to get that visa.
