Some were critical that we did not break into a national stockpile of Tamiflu and distribute at the time, some were angry that schools weren't being closed which was putting little ones at risk. This OP-ED written by a D and R, criticized the administration's efforts under the CDC using antiquated methods of vaccination development and how unprepared we were for 'the big one' . And even when we got a vaccination, over on Fox, commentators then decided that the vaccination effort was now too fast and warning that it was a plot to infect more of the populace or cause anything from cancer to autism. Of course this fallacy didn't just come from the right, because there were some on the other side too that bought into anti-vaccine bunk. And of course there was the stigma against the pork industry which was just ridiculous, oh and also those that wanted the administration to close the border with Mexico.

 

 

Kind of makes my point.  Where was the criticism on CNN, MSNBC, or in the NYTimes, or WaPo?  Back then, the big media outlets all but dismissed any criticism of Obama coming from FoxNews, or WSJ.  In the end, it doesn’t really matter, the media is biased and will do whatever they can to promote those biases to the general public.

One of those links was to WaPo. And CNN also regularly ran critical pieces involving the lack of vaccinations as promised and slow deployment.

I know it is only one CNN article, but I don't see much condemnation of Obama, even though his declaration of an emergency came SIX MONTH after it all started with H1N1.  After millions in the US had been infected and over 1,000 dead.  We currently have what, less than 1,300 confirmed cases with 40 deaths in the US (but likely tens or more of thousands coming?)

You do you.  I have probably lived longer than you, and in many more countries.  I have seen enough to convince me that most governments don't care one whit about their people.  Right now, I put the odds at natural vs manmade around 50/50.  More to follow as time goes on.  The whistleblower journalists in China have conveniently disappeared from the planet.  Nothing to see there.  Just move on.
