You might get a better response if you post this in the Phillipines section. A lot of us know nothing of that country.

Some answers!

1] Your wife must have the CFO seminar [Manila or Cebu] part before she can change her name to yours in her passport!

2] She can take the seminar part [Manila or Cebu] before her interview and get the CFO sticker [Manila only] in her passport once she has visa in hand.

3] She can wait and do the seminar after her interview and get the sticker the same day. Manila only!

If she lacking documents she'll be asked to bring such another day. Happens.

ok, the DFA in cebu has required any fiance or spousal application to undergo the CFO seminar before they could get a passport. but on my case I had an agency to work the passport on my behalf BUT still I had my CFO seminar right after I got approved for my visa. after the seminar the CFO would attached the certificate & a sticker on the passport. and for some reason the philippine immigration would look for this document during her departure at the airport.

Hope this information would be helpful for u and for your fiance. God Bless!

ok from what I've known there are CFO offices in manila where she could attend to but I'm not sure where's the exact place. if she hasn't done with her interview yet she could still have attend the cfo but they would only give her the certificate and eventually she would have to come back to the cfo office right after she gets her visa to get her sticker/stamp. just make sure she won't lose her certificate cause that would determine that she already have complied the cfo requirement.

she would get the certi. and stamp from the place of where she have attended the CFO seminar. the certi. will be given right away after the seminar, yes eventually she'll have to go back for the cfo stamp after she has the approved visa on her hand.:)

I have attended my cfo in cebu so I did get my sticker and certi. in cebu too

Hi,

I just had my CFO yesterday in Cebu. I don't have a visa yet and it is good to have this done and over with while waiting for my medical and interview which are scheduled on July and August, respectively.

Click this LINK to read my CFO experience which I posted under the Phil-Am CSC February 2007 Filers topic.

For further information re CFO, here's a link to their website: http://www.cfo.gov.ph/fs_cebu.htm

I hope this helps.

oh yes, that helps a lot. just to double check..you pay p250 for the class & p400 for the document proving you passed & paid to get the stamp & cert. when you come back to cebu office after you have your visa in hand?

thanks so much!
