Sort of but vaguely, more akin to how you miss Boxing Day. and Good Friday and Easter Monday.

I've got to start taking more holiday time off.

Silly me.  Kind of like how we celebrate Christmas twice.

I think it's referred to traditionally as Mothering Sunday.

Alex has confirmed it is called Mothering Sunday and he is trying to figure out gifts for his own mum and for his ex. I fail to see why he needs to buy his ex-wife a gift although she's always happy to take them from him.

She must be a wonderful and special person.

He is getting something for his daughter for her mother.

And it is Mothering Sunday, I never realised it was different over here until I moved.

She's an extremely nice person. Very few people have bad things to say about her, but I do find that she is prone to a shakedown once in a while. You know, like, spinning that their daughter needs X thing when it's really for the mum. Like the birthday party last year which he paid for that had an open bar and a bartender and mini-salmon croquettes and whatnot. The kids got sheet cake and were happy reportedly. The adults got a very fancy and boozy afternoon tea. I did not get to go. :(

Thanks Boiler, that makes a lot more sense about getting her a gift for his daughter to give. I try to be not so judgmental but, well, I kind of suck at that!
