Hi everybody,

I still have not received my NOA1 after 10 business days, almost 2 weeks since I mailed it. I did get a return signature that it was received, but that is it. And my check hasn't been cashed. I submitted it to the TSC. Anybody else having issues? Should I call them on Monday if I haven't heard anything?

Thanks!

You gotta be patient, you have a long road ahead :) We waited 34 days to get our NOA1. Take a look of other's timelines, lately it's been taking about 30 days to get NOA1 from NSC and CSC, not sure about Texas though. I would suggest not calling them now, wait at least until 30 days have passed since your package was delivered. If you call them now most likely they wont give you any helpful info.

Good luck!

Please don't get discouraged.

You do have a long road ahead. The Service Centers got buried in H1B applications in April and they are still below water. My petitions (and the same is true for many, many others) were both approved a month ago. But CRIS isn't updated and I have no NOA2s.

I do know that my wife is about to enter her fourth week of Security Checks and there is no end in sight. We need to keep our eye on the prize, and do our best to maintain equanimity throughout this difficult process.

Yes, and the check has not cleared yet :(

I'm just anxious, and the average listed is 11 days. I'm really hoping for something to happen in the next day or two! I'd just like to know that it is in the works.

I definitely see the long road...it looks really, REALLY long right now, but nonetheless, it will most certainly be worth the wait:) I have assumed that I would receive the NOA1 in the mail in the average time listed which is 11 days. It's now the 12th day, and still no cash checked and no NOA1. So, I wanted to make sure that I contact them if this was abnormal. All I can do is just wait and see! I hope they hurry up and dig themselves out of the hole!

Read here the check, money order, etc. is first to go. Then you receive your NOA1 with the receipt number. 2 weeks to ours.

You may want to track the check, the mail receipt, etc.

It took about 10 - 15 days to receive the NOA1 about back in Febuary and March. But recently its been slow. For some it has taken a month to get the NOA1. But they are suppose to get getting caught up about now.

We filed through TSC and our NOA1 took 18 days. That's because TSC doesn't process fiance visas anymore so they have to forward the case to CSC, and that causes a delay.

Justin called USCIS around 2 weeks after we mailed the application and they were able to confirm that they received the forms and gave us our case number.

Saludos,

Caro

You are not alone,

My check was cashed on the 18th of may and I have not heard anything from them by mail or e-mail.

I called but that was not very helpful as the lady took my info and said the "target date" to answer my inquiry was 8 weeks.

I called back again to try to get my case number (it was not clear or present on the check) and was told they don't have that info.

At least in my case my check was cashed but all I can do is wait and hope my package is not off in a corner somewhere.

OP -- CSC was buried and maybe they are catching up. Last night CRIS sent me two emails stating that they were finally sending me NOA2 for my two petitions that they approved back on 16 May.

Our ability to track averages using the visajourney is a very nice, powerful tool. It helps us know what normal experience is over a variety of timeframes. But it can be a painful tool, when it shows that your particular experience is slower than normal.

My experience is also slower than normal.

For K3s, the most common length of time between NVC receipt and NVC forwarding a petition is 2 days. 90% have their petitions forwarded within 12 calendar days. Today we are at 18, and only 6% of the last 200 VJers to post K3 timelines waited 19 days or more. For sure, our experience is not the one I prefer.

What to do? One could plunge into the suffering, and be very attached to the idea that things should move at a normal pace. I could be attached to outrage at the fact that there seems to be no valid reason my wife's Security Check should be so slow (since she was approved through NVC before we even noticed we were at NVC when I secured her K1 two years ago, and the only substantive difference now is that we're married). Rather, I try to notice my thoughts about the situation, accept them without judgement and return my mind to focusing on whatever the matter of the moment is. And sometimes that matter is considering whether to submit a I-824, which would to active the CR-1 path. But most of the time, the matter at hand has to do with normal, daily life which, even though she isn't here, is really pretty good.
