J1 waiver 2020 NOS update timeline

Update: Received an email that says some caseworker is reviewing case but I need to send all documents again with fresh date and signature. 🤦‍♂️

They also asked to send proof of payment. I basically got a western union money order from Riteaid so I am struggling with what proof I can send them.

They processed your initial application in Missouri... wouldn't be forwarded to DOS otherwise... how can these people be so incompetent? Jesus.

Hi everyone!

Is there any Fulbright with approved h1b visa, trying to get a NOS waiver? Please share your experience.

I got h1b approval notice but I need a waiver to get a visa stamp. I know that chances are very low that DOS will approve NOS based waiver but I still tried and want to know the timeline for similar cases, and if anyone has a different experience.

This is my timeline so far,

Also, I've noticed that some cases request sponsor views, and I assume that will be the case for me as well.

Have you contacted your sponsor at any point? and who is the POC in case of Fulbright?

Thanks

Is there anyone who mailed their documents to lockbox @St. Louis, MO in mid/late October 2021? Do you see status update on DoS website? Mine were delivered on October 20th, and there is no status update since :(

It will take about two months to show up on the DoS website.

Mine were delivered on July 31, and were updated on the website on September 28.

Why dont you request expedite processing based on your H1B approval. Try that. I tried to find out who the POC for Fulbright but no one from IIE replied. So may be DoS themselves are the POC

I'm in the exact situation as yours. I am also waiting for the result, so don't have much experience to share. All  my documents were marked as received on September 28. One week after that, "Sponsor Views Request" was updated as "Sent" on the website. I haven't heard anything since then.

I emailed the Fulbright program in my home country as soon as I submitted the application, but did not receive any response. So I don't know who is the POC. I read somewhere in this forum that the request is sent to the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, who may seek opinions from the home country Fulbright program (depending on if the home country has its own Fulbright commission). I also read that this "Sponsor Views" process for Fulbright typically takes very long, from 3 months to over 1 year.

Oh, I didn't know h1b was a a valid ground for an expedite processing. I will try that, thank you!

I did not and do not plan to request expedite processing. I also don't think H1B is a valid ground (it must be related to humanity or the likes), but it won't hurt for you to try.

Guys, please help.

Any information is much appreciated.

I sent my docs to DoS on July 28, 2021, delivered at St. Louis on July 31, updated on J1 waiver status website on September 28, 2021.

The embassy sent the NOS to DoS via email on October 21, 2021, but it has not shown up on the J1 waiver status website as of November 11, 2021.

Is this timeline looking normal? Anyone with a similar timeline as me? Any idea by when can I expect the FR sent to the USCIS? I have a job offer but they won't proceed further until I get the waiver.

Any help/info will mean a lot.

Thanks.

Guys, posting an update.

I just checked today and my NOS is now showing up on the J1 waiver status website.

The strange part is that my embassy sent the NOS to them on Oct 21, but the date on the website says September 27. Weird! And I have been checking the status everyday and until yesterday, NOS was not updated.
