Anyone who contacted a congressman. Should you contact the congressman of the zip code from the address you provided to DOS or it can be from my new address? I'm confused

You contact the congressman in whose area you reside. That way they can represent their constituent in DoS

Guys, please help.

Any information is much appreciated.

I sent my docs to DoS on July 28, 2021, delivered at St. Louis on July 31, updated on J1 waiver status website on September 28, 2021.

The embassy sent the NOS to DoS via email on October 21, 2021, but it has not shown up on the J1 waiver status website as of November 11, 2021.

Is this timeline looking normal? Anyone with a similar timeline as me? Any idea by when can I expect the FR sent to the USCIS? I have a job offer but they won't proceed further until I get the waiver.

Any help/info will mean a lot.

Thanks.

My embassy had sent the NOS in mid july and it appeared as received in Nov with a date of Sept 06. These people are a complete mess. Dont get attached to any info you see here. There is only one thumb rule. Contact the senator after 4 months of your documents.

Thanks for the info.

So I should contact the senator around January?

Man, this is going to take a long time still. :(

Based on other cases that I've seen in this forum, your timeline looks normal. I'd say expect a recommendation anywhere in January/February. I'm still waiting on mine. I sent my docs in mid-June, they got updated to DoS website on mid-August and nothing since them, as expected since the processing time according to DoS is 12-16 weeks for NOS. Is your case based on NOS? Did you have US govt funding (e.g., Fulbright)?

Thank you for your reply. Much appreciated.

Yes, my case is based on NOS. No US govt. funding, 212e based on the skill list (as mentioned in the DS-2019).

I sent all my paperwork June 28th, they updated the website with my documents on September 21st, but still no update on the NOS...

I emailed my embassy and asked if they could check the tracking number and see if it was delivered or email them, but they just replied that it takes awhile and did not resend it or said anything about having a tracking number. I was thinking about emailing DOS, but doubt it will help in any way

I think we are in the similar timelines.

When did the embassy send the NOS to the DoS?

And, yea, I emailed DoS on Nov 2, but did not receive any response yet. Emailed them again today.

They embassy emailed me at the end of June and said they would send it then.

I emailed DOS September 8th and they never replied to my email. Did you email them to ask if they have received the NOS?

Yep, that's exactly what I asked them if they received the NOS. But no reply.

Well, let's keep each other posted. Ours should come around the same time.

We have almost the same timeline. Only difference is my docs except the NOS shows September 21 as against 28th in yours.

Hi Everyone,

I finally got my FR from DOS last Friday. See my timeline below:

I sent my docs to DoS on May 28, 2021, delivered at St. Louis on May 31, updated on J1 waiver status website on Aug 17, 2021.

Question: How long it usually takes to receive a USCIS letter or a case number?

What is the status of your NOS? When did the embassy send it to DoS?
