Indeed,  after only one (1) week since the NOS was marked as received, the website showed Favorable Recommendation (FR). However, the address change (submitted at the start of October) didn't make it on their website. I'm somewhat relieved but I wonder what address DoS and USCIS will use to send the FR, the I-797C and the waiver.

I am still waiting for FR my documents received on June 1st.

Seems legit, so what you think is the total time:  from mailing docs to DoS (assuming NOS is also sent around similar time from embassy) to recommendation ?

This is the one-million dollar question! No one knows the answer for sure.

In my case, it took 2 months for the DoS to update the docs to their website showing "received". All my docs show as received between August 14-19th, and I'm still waiting for the recommendation. This is the 11th week and the DoD says the processing time is 12-16 weeks (NOS-based), so I'm not concerned yet. Some folks got their FR in about 16 weeks (docs received in June, FR issued in October), but some others are still waiting after 16 weeks. So, to answer your question, I'd estimate 24 weeks between mailing the docs to getting the recommendation.

I hope you get yours sooner than later!

Thanks for replying. I was a Fulbrighter (so months more for me), may be the first fulbrighter who may get a heart attack without a waiver.

Any positive reply from your sponsor yet? I contacted my sponsor program director but no response. Do you think we need to contact the DOS branch in DC that monitors our program too?

My sponsor said they haven’t received DOS request yet. I’m waiting a reply from the department in charge of waivers to see if this is standard or another thing to worry about 😩

I believe each program is different. My program (NIH) has its own policy on sponsors views

Maybe each program is also different in the way they receive the DOS request, so your sponsor may take a couple more days to have it updated in the system.

Yes, I read that NIH has a clear policy on sponsor views; thus, they are always responsive to applicants' inquiries. I hope they will provide favorable views for your case very soon. Good luck!!!
