Please respond if you guys can. In urgent need of some information. Came in US with a Fulbright J1 for 2 years. As required I went back home and was happy and never thought I would come back. Stayed for around 11 months and then my family situation changed. Went to another country Z and stayed with family there for 3 years and got residency there. Got a new job again in US in J1 but this J1 is not subject because of residency in country Z. I actually tried to stay for 2 years in home country but my circumstances changed and never imagined that I would come back to US.

Is it possible to get a waiver in this situation under "No Objection"?

Can I even get a No Objection because I dont live in the first country now?

For family and economic reasons its just not possible for me to go back to the first country and live there for the remaining time just for the sake of completing 2 years.

Getting a No objection waiver seems very hard for Fulbright scholars, although not impossible (check this great blog post of a successful story https://ygeetz.blogspot.com/2021/08/in-this-blog-i-am-going-to-narrate-my.html?m=1  )

Have in mind that the process takes a very long time (likely more than one year), you should discuss the timeline with your new sponsor.

I’m not familiar with the requirements for multiple J1 visas (other than getting the waiver make sure you meet time restrictions or any additional rules before reapplying)

Hi.

Is you NOS appearing yet? Seems like we have a similar timeline.

For me, all docs except the NOS appeared Sept 28. Since then, no other update.

No other update. Yeah, looks our timelines are similar. Lets hope we get a positive update before this week runs out.

Same here.

All my paperwork were updated September 21st, and still waiting for the NOS to get updated. Do you know when your embassy sent the NOS?

I have similar timeline with all of you above, but I was luckier with NOC. All my docs are marked as "received" on Sep 28, and NOC Sep 27.

My docs were delivered in MO on July 16, and my NOC was sent to DC on July 22.

A small, yet so reassuring, update on my side. Today the NOS was marked as received (on 5th of July) on their website. The other documents were marked as received on 6th of July. All the documents were sent at the end of May. I saw that some of you got the Favorable Recommendation quite fast after the NOS showed up. I wonder if this will be the case here too.

Indeed,  after only one (1) week since the NOS was marked as received, the website showed Favorable Recommendation (FR). However, the address change (submitted at the start of October) didn't make it on their website. I'm somewhat relieved but I wonder what address DoS and USCIS will use to send the FR, the I-797C and the waiver.

Today, about 13 weeks after sending the materials (and 12 weeks after the check being cashed), the documents finally appeared as received on their portal, with a received date of Nov 2. The NOS, which was sent by the embassy around the same time (early Aug) , still doesn't doesn't show. I guess this is progress!

I have the same exact timeline as you, right upto the date of update NOS.  Super anxious on when and what  the decision would be.

Also, my address change was updated but I submitted in August (took a month).

Just a guess: It seems to me that they received all your docs on early July but the NOS did not show as "received". Then, they picked up your case to work on it last week and fixed this small issue (updated the website to reflect the fact that the NOS was already received). For all the folks out there waiting/hoping for a FR, if all your docs show as "received" with similar dates (like mine), don't expect to receive a recommendation too soon. However, if the NOS (and possibly other docs) is not showing as "received" for weeks and weeks, and suddenly it changes to "received", it's probably because someone just picked up your case and is working on it, so you can expect a recommendation soon.

Let's hope for the best for all of us and good luck to all of you!!!

Seems legit, so what you think is the total time:  from mailing docs to DoS (assuming NOS is also sent around similar time from embassy) to recommendation ?

Exactly the same situation with me. Finally I got the update on the website. After 13 weeks. Still no NOS so don’t know how long it’s gonna be.
