I see! I was thinking to ask the embassy to resend  NOS.  It is sad to see that it didn't change anything

Hi everyone,

So all my documents were submitted in May, including my NOL from my Zambian embassy. However, in August, I noticed that my NOL was reflecting as received, and so my lawyers emailed the State dept, and I also asked my Zambian embassy to resend the NOL. In September, my NOL was still not reflecting, and so I asked my Zambian Embassy to email the NOL. Today, my lawyers got a response from August State Dept inquiry saying that they have not yet received my NOL. Does anyone know how I can contact my Illinois Congress Representative to help with my case. My student visa expires in December 2021. Please advise.

I don't have a solution but I want to acknowledge that your fears and stress are not unique.

Unfortunately, this situation, where the NoS was sent but never updated on the website is a recurring situation that has no apparent solution -- nor the congressmen, nor the lawyers, nor your-self can actually talk with someone that handles your case AND with the one that receives documents (via e-mail or otherwise). Most likely, you'll going to get a (canned) reply, similar to the one above, from a (hopefully) human that checks the same website as we do. My *personal* take is that in this case, it is likely that your embassy really sent the NoS the way they do it each time, the way it used to work. However, because "uNpReCeDeNtEd TiMeS" all bets are off. In addition, DoS has no incentives to update that website with all received documents, as the time will start counting from that moment on, and they are likely understaffed -- they can also reply "oh the embassy is sending in batches or the documents may be at the locker-box" (despite one sending the NoS via e-mail).

Any updates for you?

All docs except the NOS appeared sometime last week. Hopefully the NOS appears this week. How about yours?

I just got an e-mail requesting additional documents from DOS. The funny thing is what they are requesting (DS-3035, 3 bar codes page, reason of statement, photo copy of passport bio, J1 visa and I-94) have all been sent with my original packet by mail back in August (and it shows as docs received in the system). I really don't understand it.

They gave the option to fax or mail. No way I'm mailing all this again. I used MetroFax and faxed everything they requested.

This is very worrisome for others that are waiting for their docs to show-up. I hope that you can get at the bottom of this and understand what happened.
