Finally, the DOS issued the FR. My NOS was updated on the 8th of March and FR was received on the 1st July (Slightly more than 16 weeks). I did contact the local congressman early this week and got a reply from the office stating that they have asked the DOS for expediting my case. I am inclined to think that did the trick, since DOS was highly non-responsive to my emails. I would suggest people to contact the local congressman once you are in between 12-16 weeks time frame, once all your documents are updated.

Fingers crossed for the next step with the USCIS :)

Similar situation. Have you received the receipt number from USCIS? I called them but they mentioned there is no case in the system yet.

Same! the FR was sent on 14. I had an RFE so I responded with the screenshot of the email from DoS and the portal to tell them it has already been sent. They updated last week that the response to the RFE was received but no receipt notices. Hopefully it gets done soon. It's honestly been a torture.

How did USCIS contact you about the RFE? By mail/e-mail? My FR was sent exactly on 14 as well.

Has anyone had their home government (not embassy in DC) issue their NOS?  My government issued the NOS since I already left US, but USCIS won't accept it because the NOS doesn't have the embassy seal on it.

I'm assuming the government NOS should be acceptable since they're basically the embassy's boss? I asked my government  about this and they agree, so won't issue anything else or email them for me.

Hi Everyone,

I am applying for the J1 212e waiver based on NOS from India. I have sent all my documents to DoS and have my fingers crossed on receiving a FR at the earliest. Here is my info:

  1. Sent the documents to DoS on July 02, 2021
  2. USPS delivered the docs to St, Louis office on July 06 ,2021
  3. I have also submitted all the documents to Indian Consulate in Washington on July 06,2021, pertaining to my request for the issuance NOS certificate. I am hoping that they send the NOS soon to DoS soon.

Anyone who has applied in the recent past, I would love to hear how fast/slow your process is.

Damn. Looks like most people on here get it in under 3 weeks. Very frustrating.
How long did it take to receive the case number after FR from DOS? It's almost been a month for me and yet to hear anything.

It took about 2 weeks in my case.

Did you applied for the AoS without waiver ? if yes, How is it possible?

I applied for the waiver first and then AoS but due to the delay in the waiver I got an RFE to show the waiver.

I am just curious if the DoS sends all the waivers to VSC?

Hi avi865

when did you applied AoS? I am in same boat, I had applied just i130 in April ,2021.

I applied in April 2020. I-130 was approved in April 2021 with an RFE for I-485.

I sent the reply that the Favorable Recommendation was sent to the USCIS and they updated the reply received but no information after that.

Would appreciate if any one has the information about the waiver based on NOC sent to USCIS on or after June 14, 2021 and if they received the receipt notices for the form I-612. I haven't received any update after that. I tried talking to someone on the USCIS chat and they escalated it to the tier 2 officer. Hopefully I get a call or an update soon.

Exact same situation. Sent on June 14 to VSC and no update about receipt notices. Waiting for a tier 2 officer call back as well.
