Congrats. This is great, I have not seen a case with FR after a week of the NOS update. Mine is in the 15th week now after the NOS update, no idea what is the reason for the delay !! They say that they deal with the application with first come first out basis but that is definitely not true..

Thank you ,

My No Objection letter was sent on January 7, they never updated it and I found out much later.

It actually took 22 weeks.

Any one has an idea what are the next steps? Do we contact the USCIS or they would update automatically. Any help would be appreciated.

Its not clear when the processing time starts, the website states that the processing starts when all the documents are received on the website. In my case, the NOS was sent by the embassy on 21st Jan itself and it was updated on the 8th of March (With all other documents updated before on the 25th Feb). Anyways, patience is the only thing in our hands and DOS has its own mysterious ways..

As per some earlier posts in the forum, you will receive a notice of action from the USCIS which will contain the information of your case and you can then look it up. You can track the status online and at the end you will receive the hardcopy of the approval from USCIS. I think the process with the USCIS is fast as compared to DOS (between 2-4 weeks).

You should receive a Form I-797C and then a Form I-612 approval from USCIS. You can check your case status here once you have a receipt number:

Thank you so much.

Yes, there is no clarity but for anyone who is waiting please do not hesitate to send them a courtesy email.

They never replied to my email but within 2 weeks the case was updated, which I am sure would not have been the case I I would not have sent the email.

This is a nerve racking process and I feel for all of us.

So we so not have not file I-612? This is what I was a little confused about.

Ideally, this question could have been answered by my lawyer but he was busy fleecing money from us to follow up with the case.

I am so glad we found this forum and the end is in sight to get rid of him.

Yup, sent them an email in the 13th week, got a reply last Friday saying that they have passed on the information to the Visa officer (Not sure who is this). Till now no updates.

By the way, their system is broken. Not trying to scare folks but I received last Wednesday a letter from DOS with a favorable recommendation which was not actually for my case number and was associated with a different person with category IGA. The only similarity was that we shared was the same family name. DOS ended up sending the FR for this person in the return envelope that was meant for my case. I informed them on the very day itself about the miscommunication and its effect on my application but of course they take 2 weeks to respond.
