Posting my timeline here even though it was NOT favorable. I don’t mean to alarm anyone.

I knew I had very small chances with a No Objection Waiver being a Fulbright Scholar. I thought I had a really strong Statement of Purpose and support from my employer. I sent all the documents on March 15th 2021.

Does anyone know if there’s anything else I could do at this point?

Thanks and good luck to everyone.

That is saddening to hear. Have you tried reaching out to your congressman's office? Maybe they can help?

Hi All,

Here's my update from my end:

My NOC didn't show up on the DOS portal when I checked on Monday (3/21/22). I know from the email 212e sent me, as well as the information that my contact at the local congressman's office received, that the NOC has been sent and received (by march 10th). I emailed the 212e helpline and got a quick response that yes, they have my NOC, but they'll upload it "in the coming weeks".

Panicking, I replied requesting an expedited review, and they surprisingly emailed the same day granting my request but requiring that I demonstrate "a significant humanitarian need and clear US govt interest" in the form of a letter from my dept chair that addressed their criteria. I got all the documents they required and sent those in, only to be told that the expedite request was denied. As my research is on the virus causing this current pandemic, I am surprised that this is not considered significant, but what can you do?

My NOC is still not showing up on the portal, and my DS2019 expires next saturday (4/2).

I have been talking to my local congressman's office and am debating speaking with the state senator's office next week.

Fingers crossed and hoping our forum starts to have good news coming in soon.

hello everyone

Is there anyone waiting for their cases be sent to Washington Dc from St Louis

After 4 months, i have see no update on my case status

My package was delivered around 23rd November 2021, and NOS was sent at 6tj of December

Did you email the 212e helpline for a response? You'll likely get two auto-replies and then a reply from a person either that day or in a few days.

as you said , i got a couple of auto-replies and then semi-auto replies, i believe they answer the same email just changing the words, it was said they don;t have my documents, no status update, that means the application package at St-Louis since November 2021

nothing else come to my mind, when i inquired by congresswoman and senator office they got the same reply

My request for expedited review was denied too! My DS2019 date is end of April 2022.

Please keep us posted about your case.

Thanks for sharing.

I'm sorry to see this decision after so long waiting. Just curious- did you know whether your sponsor view was favorable or unfavorable?

What is that "support letter"?

I don’t know. I reached out to the local Fulbright Commission and they told me they were not going to object.

Support letter is a letter from my employer

No it was only the first package sent in mid November. I was seriously considering sending another package.

By the way, do you (or anyone) know if congressman can help in expediting the process? My visa expires in May 2022. From some of the previous posts, the department of state seems to have specific standards for `humanitarian needs'.

Hi, do you know by chance, if the local Fulbright Commission was even contacted by the review devision? Trying to understand at what level are sponsor views obtained.

Thanks

I’m not sure. My local commission said that they usually don’t get contacted and that the request doesn’t leave DOS
