FREAK STORM: Tornado causes chaos in Hamburg

Weather patterns have always changed but never this rapidly. There is a huge ozone hole over Antarctica and the ozone layer over the North pole is deteriorating at a rapid speed. The poles are melting, as are the glaciers, which leads to rising ocean levels.

Whether or not this is entirely man-made doesn't matter. What matters is that man through the production of greenhouse gases and free Fluoride-Chloride-Carbohydrate-radicals contributes to the situation and accelerates it. We drive whenever we feel like it and if it is to our own mailboxes, we indulge in plastics which happen to be made from oil as well, we drink soda out of plastic bottles or even worse aluminum cans, and so on. Almost everything we do results in the production of more greenhouse gases and other susbtances detrimental to the environment.

Of course we can continue to sit around and live our lifes and think who cares as long as other countries don't do anything. Or we could decide to change our lives and try to alleviate the situation because if we wait for the governments of the world to come up with a solutions, the Atlantic and Pacific coasts will have moved several hundred miles inland.

Consider how small human beings really are when you think of our place in the greater make-up of things.

indeed....and all of us haven't recently started causing problems for the environment just over the last few years or so....we've been at it for quite some time now.

I agree people, and their actions are responsible for the elimination of much of our planets natural resources, but there's a nagging part of me that keeps saying...there has to be more to the problem than SUV's, over usage of home heating or a/c's, etc. I still believe that nature is more powerful than us.

It is. Nobody is saying that it isn't. I firmly believe that mother nature will get her way one way or the other. I mean, at the end of the day, the human population may be decimated by nature (through deseases, extreme climates, etc.) to the point where mother nature gets enough of a break from the pesky inhabitants that we are to cure herself again. Question is, do we really want to fight and try her to that point?

I agree... what's the catchphrase?..... "save the planet"? Well, the planet isn't going ANYWHERE and will be fine long after it's booted us off...

I agree with you here and do accept we have to take a measure of responsiblity for the state of our planet today, and I also agree that mother nature has been REALLY pi$$ed off with us all lately, and that we're in for some serious a$$ kicking from her
