You should start a new topic for your local USCIS field office.

Also, you might want to update your timeline so that others can learn from your wait time as well.

True, updating now. And I did start it, but haven't heard back from anyone.

Hi,

I've filed my N400 application couple of months ago, done biometrics and now waiting for the interview.

For some reason, I don't see estimated waiting time or completion time on my online account anymore. Did any of you experience the same thing?

Some people wrote those times are meaningless and not accurate. But, I'm not sure what to make of this sudden disappearance.

Thanks in advance

Same here, no estimated waiting and/or completion time. I filed in late January, did biometrics 10 days later and now waiting.

I think everyone is taking it with a grain of salt. Unless your field office is one of the super quick ones like Cleveland, OH, then it's logical to expect delays.

Hi dbLA,

In your MyUSCIS account, does it show "estimated case completion time" as of November 2020? Is there an "estimated wait time" on the lower left corner showing count down days?

If you read this thread https://www.visajourney.com/timeline/citlist.php?cfl=0&op1=3&op2=d&op3=&op4=2&op5=&op6=All&op7=Los%20Angeles%20CA

I checked the site for my local office and it says this:

  • Estimated time range: 10.5 Months to 26 Months
  • Form type: Application for Naturalization
  • Receipt date for a case inquiry: June 29, 2018

Does anyone know what the "Receipt date for a case inquiry" part means?

HI loganlim

The case on MyUSCIS account has the Estimated case completion time of November 2020 (3 months) and then under that estimated wait time - 3 months.

I applied in Feb 2020 and it estimated my completion time as July 2020. That was before covid.

Despite the covid disruption I became a citizen on 29 July 2020. So for me (Raleigh/Durham office) it was accurate.

It means that if you have filed your N-400 on June 29, 2018 (or earlier), but still haven't gotten any news/updates, you are legitimately allowed to open an inquiry about your case, because it falls outside of the range of processing times.

Remember that the range of processing times, the lower number represents the time by which 50% of the cases have been completed, and the upper number represents the time by which 93% of the cases have been completed.

This means that the remaining 7% are taking longer than the range upper number and there might be some issues, so you are allowed to open a case.

I'm a little confused, I have seen many people calling USCIS to ask about what's going on with their cases just a few months after they file, and they were able to speak with T2 officers and discuss about their cases, and obviously they filed later than the "Receipt date for a case inquiry". If so, what is the purpose for "Receipt date for a case inquiry"?
