Hang in there, it’s not easy but I’ve seen others that had to wait up to 400days. We will never know why. It maybe simply because they have not received results of background checks. We don’t know. However you’ll get through it.

What kind of background check will that be when those that filled around January and February are getting their approval by May.

The principle of operation research is first come first serve, first come first serve basis but in Nebraska center is last come first serve it's unfair seriously 😡.

Did you have any update on your online account before approval ? Our NOA1 is 3 days after you, I'm starting to be really excited 😀 even if it's supposed to take around a year for a lot of people.

The case status date (that you see when you log into your online account) was updated on May 1 and again on May 4, and then it changed to "Case Closed" and the approval notice was posted under "Documents" on May 5. Those were the first date changes we saw since our initial submission. Never received any email or notification -- if I hadn't logged in, I wouldn't have known until I got the email from the NVC.

Well I’m sorry that you are upset. All you have is wait. Being angry will not help but make matters worse. Have a good one!

Agree ! I'd like to see this Nebraska feed as a way to help and support each other, and I don't want it to become a feed of on going complaints...! Let's stay positive guys, negativity is not helping at all 😀

Hello everyone,

Both myself(applicant) and my husband received notification from the NVC that my I-130 was approved.  They also asked us to open an online account with the Department of State's Consular Electronic Application Center (CEAC).

I-130 filed - March 4, 2020
I-130 Approved - May 6, 2020.

What are normally the next steps we should expect including timeline. If there is a thread that already covers this topic and you can point me towards it, I would appreciate it so we can prepare for the next steps and have all our ducks in a row.

I also wonder if countries that are on the visa ban have been getting their spousal visa's approved as were both from Nigeria.

Omg!!! Awesome 👏🏾 all these fast approvals. Honestly I know nothing about the NVC stage, but I’m pretty sure they have a thread for it. Try typing in NVC on the search box.

Exactly. I mean I understand the frustration, but we have little control, all we can do is help and support one another through the journey.

There is topics for NVC filers, per month. So you can find the one for "NVC filers May 2020"
