....

Volunteers handed out pizza to voters, who were in good spirits at TSU.

Harris County Clerk Diane Trautman sent more voting machines to the poll in the evening to accommodate all the voters.

"It's taking a long time on the Democratic side and the Republican side has a bunch of empty machines that no one is using," said voter Britany Turner earlier in the night.

Trautman said they saw an extremely high turnout and that Democrats out-voted Republicans 3-1 in some locations.

She also explained that the machines come pre-programmed with each party's ballot, so voters could not just go to any machine or use the other party's machine.

It is unclear the specific locations, but about 40 to 50 machines were deployed to about four to five polling locations.

ABC13 talked to some of the voters in the polling lines and many of them said they were excited to have their voices heard.

"It's great that I came. I did my job, and I'm glad to see people here doing their part," said voter Abraham Madrigal.

This story was all over the local news and talk radio.

The fact is that this clown (and many, many others like him) had 2 weeks during which to vote early!

Anyone who waits till Election Day eve, or E.D. itself, can be the victim of many unexpected factors.

Equally irritating is that the Democrats (like elsewhere) couldn't run their own primary efficiently.

And then (like elsewhere), they blame the Republicans as though somehow it's the latter's fault.

This smacks of the boy who murders his parents and then demands alms because he's an orphan.

How was this the fault of the Democrats?

Actually, more of the true story came out.

County Clerkette, a Democrat herself (although, to be fair, overseeing her first election), said that equal numbers of Republican & Democrat voting machines (which had the respective party's ballot coded in) were assigned to each precinct.  To do otherwise, she said, could be viewed as discriminatory.  This is not stopping the criticism, however.

He takes his right to vote seriously. Kudos to him.

Fully agreed, and good for him; however, one should avoid beefing about problems that one encounters when one waits till Election Day to vote.

I still don't understand the capacity issue. You had a primary, which has less voters than the general, and there was not enough equipment.

You cannot blame folks for not voting early, the list of candidates was changing as candidates dropped out and endorsed another.

How long has Texas been running elections?

For all of this talk if voter list purges, Russian interference, illegal voters, voter ID....this biggest challenges facing voters appears to be their own systems.

That is the accountability of politicians.
