My husband and I got our interview date today. He lives in Pakistan and we registered online with the embassy for the passport return. My husband is telling me That we have to do another ds-260 form pay $265 is this accurate? I’m very confused how do we submit another  ds-260?

You don’t. The ds260 was done and the fee paid at the NVC stage  You would not have the interview date if this was not complete already

Thank you. I wasn’t sure he was clicking something different for a k visa on the USA embassy in Pakistan and that is why he was saying we had to pay that again but I call Nvc to ask and they said same as you did.

K1 visa applicants don’t go through NVC process and yes , they complete the DS 160 and pay the fee at the Consulate  stage

Do you think he might be talking about the $220 (unless it changed!) green card fee? When he gets his passport, there will be a sheet in there with instructions on how to register and pay the fee prior so it will start processing upon entry. They mentioned that to my husband during his interview in Islamabad so they might have to yours as well and maybe he just got confused!

Out of curiosity, did they request the DS-5540 or mention it? My husband's parents will be having their interview in the near future and I'm wondering if we need to have them do one.

No I didn’t hear about the ds-5540 and no he was confused he thought he had to do the ds-260 for the k visa done at the embassy but we did that already and paid the fees and we didn’t know about the fee for green card but maybe he does that when he is here because his visa is conditional for 2 years then he can apply for permanent residency.
