Not really.

REFUSED  =   221g  Additional document(s) requested

AP = Administrative Processing, which takes place without any additional documents requested.

If REFUSED is being displayed on CEAC without additional documents requested then THAT is a hiccup in the system.  Otherwise all is normal.

And yet so many here have reported that they were in AP with no additional documents requested....

That is the glitch that everyone is talking about.

No, I'm referring to the many pre-glitch cases of folks in AP with no additional documents requested.   "Refused" status shows for both those who have and have not been asked to submit additional documents.

Btw, I do not believe it is a 'glitch' in the sense of an error.  I believe it is a revised term across the board.

I would say they weren't "pre-glitch" .  A 221g IS a REFUSAL thus the reason CEAC updated the wording.  Normal AP s not.

hey house,

i went for an interview in lagos nigeria for cry visa on 19th february 2020.

After the interview the C.O Gave back all my docs with my passport and kept my police character cert asked for my son’s birth certificate, evidence of chats and Joint assets in the 221g form she gave me,

I sent them the birth certificate and chats but i couldnt provide joint assets cos i am not yet in America and have no social security number for such. My case was updated 21st feb and again 25th feb and on 3rd march it went from AP to refused.

im Confused as i am now.

There is a glitch in the CEAC system.   If the visa isn't issued it is refused but not showing up as AP.  Unless you got a letter stating it was refused it is still in AP
