Yes AP can take very long. There are no any limitations and Embassy can not ask you for any additional docs or information, and status can be AP or for now Refused with the other text message

Do not panic. "Refused" is a generic answer. You will be notified for the reason of refusal if you passport was not returned to you after interview. You are certainly eligible for a waiver.

so don't need to anything just wait are you sure sir ?? don't get me wrong but its not easy sir for us and all here

Don't worry, you are see the Embassy message and they wrote you that AP. And also there are a lot of descriptions already that Refuse on CEAC with short text means only. If Embassy will be needed from you documents they will ask you about it, but of course you can ping some times them, what is the status of your case, but the answer will be standard, that your case is uder AP. Some of my friends are waiting 2 and 3 yrs for the desicion under AP, yes I agree with you that this is not normal, but what we can do. US embassy in all countries usually says that AP can take a long time and there are no limitation for the duration. One of my friend got visa after AP after 2.5 year, this is bad, but unfortunately nothing to do.

Googd luck.

Hello everyone,

I am a US Citizen applying for my husband and the same thing happened to him yesterday. Please do not be alarmed and watch this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qjubc96cvwo

"If your visa has been stuck in administrative processing and suddenly on March 3, 2020 you saw a new “ REFUSED” appear on CEAC, then I can explain what’s happening BIG UPDATE !!!! I’m a lawyer who filed a lot of mandamus cases to help folks get their visas out of administrative processing Here’s what’s going on It seems that today the CEAC status for anyone with a case pending administrative processing has been changed to "refused." After several messages from panicked clients, we noticed that there is new language regarding AP at the bottom of the CEAC now stating that if the case was refused for AP it will be readjudicated. If the "last updated" date has not changed then it appears not to be an actual refusal, just change in the way the CEAC is showing AP cases. Super annoying. All my clients are panicking and I'm sure a million other people out there are too. Many of my clients are in online groups and said that everyone there has had the change in status too."

Yes, this is not refuse for a visa, this is AP. You have to wait desicion for your case.

To clarify, it is a refusal. It has always been a refusal pending the completion of AP. No change there...they just changed the status text.

Good friends,

I did my interview today at US Embassy Lagos Nigeria. I answered all the questions the consular officer ask me but he requested me to submit additional means of identification i.e ID card (Driver License or National ID card) to a DHL office in V.Island Lagos. He gave me back my International Passport but my Marriage Certificate, Attestation for Date of Birth, Police Certificate was still with the Consular Officer.  I just check my visa status case on Ceac.state.gov and it shows REFUSED. What does that mean?

I need people's advice and those who may have pass through the experience should please enlighten me.

Thanks
