Waiting for interview

Our paperwork was approved on November 29, 2019 and told that our interview would be scheduled with Montreal. We still have not heard. When I call the National Visa Center they have no information and tell me it’s based on number of Visas allowed per month. They have no idea when it work be. So frustrating. Is it going to be another 6 months, year???

What visa? CR1/IR1? F2A? Filling in your timeline here on VJ will help you get better answers. But for spouse of a US citizen right now is about 5-6 months wait for interview at Montreal. Not sure how long for spouse of permanent resident, if it's shorter longer or the same.

Assuming you are CR1/IR1, you'll get your interview letter later this month. They scheduled up to November 15th last month so you're up next.

That’s great! How did you find out that information? I can’t seem to get an answer from NVC

@DGFThe Document  Qualification date column on the file above, is it the date when NVC emails you about the document being complete or when your application was submitted to NVC? I submitted my document Feb 8th and painfully waiting for the next steps...Can you please clarify. I am new at this forum. I am waiting for CR-1 at Montreal consulate.

Yes, document qualified is when the NVC accepts all your documents and says that they will work with the consulate to schedule your interview. It looks like the NVC is taking just over 9 weeks to review documents, so yours should be reviewed soon! 

I suggest reading the document linked in my signature which answers common questions that Canadians have about the CR1/IR1 process  I've also added you to the group.

Added! Again, would recommend reading the FAQ linked in my signature. The information in there is a summary of everything that has been talked about in the group so far (minus more recent covid stuff but I won't update that while it's all speculation) so it'll get you up to speed.
