Well Guys .. I have had a brief setback.. !!!!!!

They will not consider any Canadian Pensions or for that fact any Canadian Assets... only American income and American assests..

My pension income alone would be six times The I864P Poverty level... and I explained to them I would have it sent to me in the US as I checked with the Pension Company and they do that ..

and I have a lot of Canadian assets trust me...

but the interviewer said sorry That I would need another USC co-sponcer that would fill out the I864

I would not need to interview again just send it ( The Co-sponcers I 864 paper work) into Montreal with my Passport and they would send my accepted visa 10 days Later..

So I have arranged for a co sponcer.. waiting for it to arrive now..

hope everything works out well. do you have an estimate for how long till you get the co-sponsor's filled-out application? the paper they give out says 10 days for review of additional documents, but on their machine when you call it says 2-3 weeks. or at least it did a few weeks ago when i last had to call. just saying if that 10 days has passed, don't worry might just be another week or so. ours took 5 weeks once they received it, but i don't think you should have a problem. they do tend to take any and every holiday known to man off, lol.

also, do not get heartbroken if your tracking number doesn't show up on canadapost online. ours came before it was on there

Good luck! I know how disheartening it can be to walk away from that interview with a rejection/denial, but it seems you're already moving in the right direction. Good luck!!

Interesting tho.

To me a buck is a buck and I doubt if Canada is going "belly up" soon!

Hey Colin .. sorry to hear about the disappointment .. I just don't get some of their rules and regulations. Hopefully that won't take that long once to send to them the paperwork they require.

I have been watching your journey closely as I live in BC and will be applying for a K1 as soon as Carnell's divorce is finalized, my heart went out to you and your wife as I read of the setback you have encountered. As an already established more mature couple, I had not anticipated you would have been beset with any difficulties. Good luck with this pothole in the road of your visa journey.

Didn't this also happen to another Canadian VJer recently? I wonder why they didn't tell you this when your case was at the NVC and you first submitted the I-864?

Sorry to hear about the setback but once you get a cosponsor, you'll be good to go!

I'm sorry that you have to go through this, I really am. Maybe it's the growing pains of implementing the DCF process? With that being said, thank you for sharing your experience with others here in VJ, the information is invaluable. I hope this gets resolved soon!

Oh Colin!!! I was away being a nerd and was wondering -seriously- how you and matt had dealt in MTL. I am sorry to hear about this - but there's a quick fix fortunately my dear friend: get that cosponsor cracking and get ready packing!!!!!! (ok, that was a cheesy verse).
