Two weeks post EAD and no SSN

Hi All,

The mister's EAD/AP was approved a little over 2 weeks ago and we have the card itself, all is swell. However, I checked the box for getting an SSN and we have heard nothing yet. Our interview is at the end of the month and I think it'd be good to show jointly filed taxes so I'd like to do my taxes sooner than later and its a real pain to do them without his SSN. Is going to a local SS office an option? Or a way to reach out and contact them about the card? It seems others have gotten their SSN shortly after their combo card so just unsure why ours is taking a minute.
