Hey all, this may be silly but I was thinking....

I applied for my AOS-EAD-AP altogether..it all goes to Chicago and they separate it and ship it out to my local office, right? right.

So, in Chicago they process my EAD, and AP?? And they send my AOS to Boston (for me) along with everything else once it's been approved (EAD, AP). Right??

So, does your AOS even get opened in Chicago? Or do they just sit on it till the other things are approved then ship it off to Boston?

I'm wondering because say you get an RFE for your AOS for whatever reason..does it hold up the other applications??

Just me being a worry wort, but I was kind of wondering what the exact process is in Chicago. And also, where do I go to check for processing dates for each one, other than Boston?

Thanks for the help, I'm just trying to arm myself with the info I need for the AOS portion.

Thanks

Yes.. the AOS gets opened in Chicago and it gets forwarded to the NBC for processing... only the interview is performed at the DO... Basically, the entire I-485 is processed.. once processed it sits on a shelf until the Boston DO notifies the NBC that they have interview dates available. The NBC then assigns the interview dates to the various petitions and sends the applicant an appointment letter and ships the file to Boston.

But yes.. as the other applications are based on the AOS, an EAD and AP does get held up if there is an RFE for the AOS...
