I have never been arrested in any country, my name is not common, I have only 3 complete namesakes in my home country and 2 in the USA, according to the white pages. None of them are felons. It's just vawa petition, not AOS. The Congressman said they informed him that it was "routine" background check. Can I hope that it means that they aren't digging too deep and it'll be over soon? Also, I can't understand, why when I sent them yet another I-765 , in a week, my online I-360 status changed from approved to "on 22 January we received your correspondence for Form I-360... We are reviewing your correspondence and..I didn't send them any correspondence concerning my I-360 petition. VSC has never asked me for bio or fingerprints.

It's normal to get that update..my I360 has been on the 'case was approved' update for a long time..until I changed my address and it now says correspondence was received and they are reviewing it. Don't bother yourself about that. I believe that the checks are done in both stages..there are some people still pending security checks..waiting for i360 approval from a long time ago! So if you say you checked that the name clash and all that is not your lot..then you may not be in for a long wait hopefully! You just have to be patient..when it comes to security checks, it can not be hastened up. It takes the full toll! It's not easy to relax when you're in some kind of situation but worrying does no good either! Concentrate on work..hand it over to God.🙏

Whether concerning VAWA or the regular immigration process, this "hurry up and wait" scenario is the one thing to expect, yet the hardest to put up with.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Thank you all for your replies, I think questions at this phase are useless, the only thing left is to wait and bother the congressman with a request every 90 days.

This is part of what your Congressman and his office are supposed to do.  Don't be shy about contacting them more often than every 90 days.  Good luck to you.

hello all,

good day to you and I do hope your day is going on well.

if you notice an error on your marriage certificate instead of the number 76 ,67 was written.this certificate has already been submitted .

The registry confirmed that a certified true copy of the marriage certificate can be issued with the correction, appropriate number with stamps .

does it make sense to get the certified true copy attaching the initial submitted marriage certificate ? and give an explanation in the VAWA personal affidavit?

@Stillwinning!!!😊 @TBoneTX @sandranj

Thank you for your response and do have a good day.

Sometimes when there's a delay of any sort..it makes you go crazy with bogus ideas. LOL..there's nothing you wouldn't think or conjure up. I doubt it's sent to the wrong address..except you gave a wrong address. You'll hear soon. Take it easy.😊

Thanks for your words of reassurance, I keep calling USPS to verify that they delivered at the right address which you know on the label says USCIS blah blah blah!! and they say they did, I guess I just have to be patient but my imagination isn't helping lol.

Hi Angor! Just be patient and contact your congressperson!!! My VAWA was approved 10 months ago and the online case went through the same steps as your one... also my I-485 is from 2016 and last week they sent me to do the biometrics again... I was very confused till I found out that biometrics are good for 15 months... so just be patient... it is coming soon!!!
