Hey!

check with your dmv website, a lot of state municipal offices are closed due to COVID. In NJ, everyone got an automatic 2 month extension on any DL OR ID expiration date.

now, if they are open in your state, go earlier rather than later. They can accept the 180 day extension letter, if you get any pushback, ask to speak to someone higher up. I had a very easy experience, my DMV was familiar with this situation. However, when I went there, they asked me to come back in 2 weeks because they had to open a ticket to confirm my status with USCIS. They have me my ticket number and said I can check as well and when the case is closed, to come back for the renewal of my state ID.
I have not gone back yet because A) extended validity till May, as describes above &B) COVID caused limited service at the DMV

hope this helps 😊

Thank you so much for the detailed explanation.  I will check with our local dmv and will go early if opened.  Thanks again.

Hey Sweety! Been a while. Howdy!😊 Not certain what's going on here..but I  have a couple of questions! Is yout VAWA approved? Is your spouse a U.S. citizen? Might help make some sense as to why all these!👆So you say he is a U.S. citizen..did you include proofs?

@Precious100 We file i485 based on an underlying petition. Since you're not adjusting status based on marriage to your U.S. citizen spouse at this time but through self petition which in this case is i360 you need to submit the receipt notice along with the i485. You should be good.👍

Do you have any pending i485 with uscis from your marriage??

I think the problem was that the NOA for the i360 wasn't included in the application as i485 is not a stand alone petition. In this case as is applicable to us here..we're adjusting status based on a pending i360 petition. So what's up with you..did you get your stimulus check yet?😊

Great! They don’t reply right away... mine replies within 24 hrs if it’s an real urgent thing or 48 if it’s routine etc

how to use prima facia for school, not sure. There were conversations about it in previous parts... look back one or two ( 16 or 17). Basically you can apply for FAFSA speak to the college’s financial aid office, you need to explain to them that you are eligible as they most likely are not familiar with our situation.

I am sore someone who has experience will reply with more details.

Thank you very much.  Thank you. You are so helpful.

@stillwinning, tnk u dear. He's s US citizen. I submitted his birth certificate  along with my 485 form and  also included the  i-765 receipt notice. I'll have to resubmit it again or is there any other doc to proof he's  a US citizen I needed to add ?

Hey Engineering-rocks! I also was approved January 2020 and still no courtesy letter or interview notice, status check shows the case was transferred and nothing else so basically last thing happened I got new EAD. What about you?

Hey, mine doesn't even show the case was transferred... I made an inquiry with a congressman 2 weeks ago, she said my case is waiting to get to NBC and it should take about 30 days.

I think the same. I think you are missing the receipt for I-360 @Precious100

You're welcome ❤😊 the birth certificate is loud enough! LOL just add the i360 receipt notice I believe that's the reason USCIS returned it as I explained i485 is not a stand alone petition..prove to them it's based on i360 by presenting the NOA as evidence. Since you're married to a USC, a visa number is immediately available to you..unlike spouses of LPR..you'll be fine!👍😊

@ Modu, tnk u dear. I did . I submitted it at first when I submitted my 360 and even attached it now i just sent my 485.  What do you think I should do. I hope that doesn't mean they rejected my case please.

My previous 485 was denied because my ex-husband refused to go with me to interview. He wanted me deported.

Do I attach the previous 485 receipt and  resend it again ? or what other poofs can i use to show he's a US citizen

@Precious100 sorry for the late response I was at work... yes dear attached your spouse previous i485 receipt notice that was denied also make sure you attached ur vawa i360 Receipt notice as I said earlier  add your spouse birth certificate as u did earlier and all other documents listed for i485 filling , write a cover letter to explain that you are married to a U.S citizen, refer to the previous i485 case number from ur ex spouse even if denied they still have it on file.... that petition shows ur husband is a U.S citizen... hope it’s clear enough now?
